Compared with the days of the dreaded 'Friday announcement'. We'd spend all week fretting over what it might be this time.

    SJP Box Office phone: 0844 372 1892*

If you're in town very often it's better to go in person, much less hassle than it is over the phones.

To be fair, its actually good business...You're more likely to go onto the official website OR go in person to the box office, when you're there, they can snare you with 'x% off' deals and get you to spend even more...That being said - BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Anyone game for a boycoutt?

Yes! I am going to purposefully miss the Villa game and the home European tie as protest. Maybe that's not far enough, so I shall also boycoutt this site for I don't know, two weeks(??!) as further sanction against their actions!

Nowt to do with the holiday...

    P.s
I hate the white on the front of the season ticket. And the Sports direct logo. And the fact it no long has a directional arrow to tell me which bloody end to stick it in (and I have a similar complaint directed at God, or whoever else is in charge up their <whistle>)...

I had the same problem. Guy at the turnstile found it hilarious though! Must've been stuck in the turnstile for a good 2 minutes :(

And then you had to sit next to a drunken bum for 2 hours of a match and a car ride home (my dad did pick us up didn't he?! <laugh>)... Still, at least we won (somewhere, Mr Bubble is cracking what scientists will later describe objectively as "a smile")!

Hopefully that boy I harassed for his score prediction before the match wasn't too traumatized... Still, he was the only one I asked on the day who got it right, so I'll be harassing him again next week as well <laugh>

I think if you need to be told which end to stick it in you're too young to be on the forum TJPF. I'll have to have a word with Mick about giving you a rest.

You lot really have come a long way in a short space of time.

Whilst Man City fans must pinch themselves every day after such a long time without success, your club could have been headed in the opposite direction had it not been for your owner. Whilst he's made mistakes, I think it's fair to say he's done a good job overall. It probably wasn't going to go well from the beginning because of his inexperience running a football club but good businessmen generally get it right eventually. Your club is admired from the outside by probably a lot of clubs in this division, well done for setting a good example when many others are simply ignoring the future financial implications from what they do today.

If the FFP rules actually work, you'll be in a good position and we might start to see more of you at the top end of the table.

No fan can deny that when Ashley runs the financial side of Newcastle United as a business, it is nothing but successful. We've set an example of how to work the transfer windows, how to run a scouting network and how to conduct yourself throughout transfer dealings...The only real criticism Newcastle fans can (in my opinion, rightfully) levy at Mike Ashley is that a football club is not always JUST a business. Part of the reason we love football and our own clubs in particular, is because of tradition, memories, heritage and history - if you take away that, you take away part of the enjoyment and loyalty amongst fans...St James' Park was a fortress, the Sports Direct Arena is a punchline! Yes I understand the financial benefits and yes I can see that if it brings in a new player who goes on to score 20 goals and gets us a trophy then it could be argued it was worth it, but sometimes its the manner in which he does things that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth!

    Brilliant post Jebus, absolutely concur!

The commercialized nature of clubs is in juxtaposition with fans supporting the club for personal reasons, otherwise we'd all try and find the cheapest season ticket and follow whichever club owned it, then try to find wherever the hell Darlo play now anyway...

Selling to Sky has made the game in this country what it is now, but it does have an ultimate price. There's little room for sentiment nowadays.

It's not just Newcastle, and we realize that. Chelsea fans were up in arms about their stand, and lots of Man Utd fans created their own club when the Glazers came in on their ponies saddled with debt, nevermind Fulham supporters getting a massive statue of Micheal Jackson outside the ground for no apparent reason... etc etc
