Leeds make the short trip down to the seaside, full of confidence following there 1-0 thrashing of Wolves. The two sides had not met for over forty years, until last season, where they inflicted a 5-0 thrashing at Elland Road last November, a night that we call Ruchubka-gate, and a game that we all would choose to forget.... Like Leeds, Blackpool have started the season with a win, against lowly Millwall at the Pussy Cats Den. Batten up the hatches folks, this one could go the distance...... Team News: The Whites are likely to be without summer signing Paul Green on Tuesday night. The midfielder left proceedings in the first half at the weekend after an injury ruined what had been a good start to his Leeds career from the former Derby man. El-Hadji Diouf replaced Green shortly before half-time and the former Senegal international may get his chance from the start against Blackpool. This could mean Diouff could start his first game of the season, or Colin may decide to bring in old warhorse Michael Brown, thoughts??? The hosts impressed on Saturday but boss Ian Holloway hinted that he could rotate his lineup for the Leeds game. Two of the players that could be in line for a start are Angel Martinez and Nouha Dicko.

I don't know what to expect. There's been talk of different teams and styles home and away. I would like the same team but with brown replacing Green as Diouf doesn't seem fit enough yet
I think Brown (our best player, some say last season) should start in his dm role. Why not drop Norris, and play McCormack on the wing, and allow him to cut in. I would have thought Diouff should be fit enough for 70 mins, then bring on Gray
First away game against tricky opponents, I would not be surprised to see Brown included and a 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 formation
I'd potentially start Diouf instead of Green and maybe Brown instead of Norris. Then last 20 mins put Gray on depending on the situation. I feel alot more confident going into midweek matches now with Warnock in charge. But saying that, Norris was good against Wolves and played alot of good balls through,so maybe a midfield of Norris Austin and Brown, then Mccormack,Becchio and Diouf with Ross and Diouf on the wings just behind Becchio,
I like the 4-4-2 formation as I'm sure I have said enough times on here so would like to keep the same set-up. This is the team I would play, doubt this will be the team Warnock picks though ------------------------Kenny-------------------------- Peltier-----------Lees-----------Pearce------------Drury Rogers----------Austin----------Norris-------------White -----------------McCormack---------------------------- ---------------------------Becchio---------------------- If he is insistent on playing Varney then replace Rogers with him. I really wouldn't be starting Diouf even if I thought he did well, does not look anywhere near fit enough in my eyes. I would certainly like to see Poleon be brought on with 10 mins remaining to see whether he can cause problems against a tired defence with his pace, I think under different circumstances at wolves he woulda been introduced
If we were to win this game, would people start to feel more optimistic about the coming season? Two wins against two promotion rivals would be nice and I think Blackpool could really do well this season as well I think this will be a bigger test than the wolves game
Bigger test for sure, blackpool have feck all non footballing carryon going on. Paddy power has the seasiders as favs. so think I will stick a few quid on us to win this game
As a backlash to last seasons fiasco, I absolutely hate the thought of these Tuesday games. A clean sheet again will do for me. Don't care if we score. I just want to believe we've moved on from those awful drubbings of conceding four, five, six goals. Tonights game will provide a far better assessment of where we are with team rebuilding. We know Blackpool are a good team whereas the jury is out on what Wolves are. Blackpool will be in contention all season whereas difficult to predict where Wolves finish
Tried to see if I could find the starting line-up on Blackpools official site - Looks like a 10 year old put it together http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/
YEP, same starting lineup but replace Green with Brown but I still don't know much about Norris and if he is central midfield only that may suggest Brown is not the one to come in Whatever I am really looking forward to thegame
Well I have to say, a similar scoreline did flash through my mind. Last season it was such a roller coaster wondering what team were going to show up, the team that were capable of winning 3-2 or the team that were capable of losing 5-0 and deep down we have all built our expectations up a little this season after the Shrewsbury and Wolves game. Last season this would have had a 3-0 or 4-0 thumping written all over it - coming on the back of a good win and a clean sheet and it being a midweek game knocking us all back down to earth with a thump. For me this will be a massive test for the team, can we take a point, play as a team, concede no more than a single goal and put two good performances together in the space of just a few days. I would be happy with a 0-0 or 1-1 scoreline, anything better and I will be quite ecstatic.
