Please can we go through the rest of the week/month/season without Southampton football club and Swansea being mentioned in the same sentance Whilst we are at it every time Rickie Lamberts name is mentioned i dont want to her Grant Holts name following it. With all due respect to messrs Swansea and Holt We are Southampton, we are premier league, we are in the premier league on our own merit and we have our own style of play. I am getting pissed off already with lazy pundits who have got nothing constructive to say apart from making these comparisons. Even Nasri was getting in on the act example Do you think Southampton can stay up this season? A. yes, Swansea did, not yes they have a wining mentality, good home record, great teamwork, sound structure, great on counter attack ditto Lambert Can he cut it in the premier league A. Holt did.................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggggh Rant over......................In 3 years time i will be back ranting that we are being compared to Barcelona - we are not Barcelona we are Southampton FC
I'd say we're more often compared to Norwich than Swansea what with the whole consecutive promotions thing.

You Me both..! I once heard Saints referred to as plucky by a football reporter. I nearly kicked in the TV screen and just stopped short because it was an expensive TV. I think it was BBC South's Tony Husband who said it, because I have an irrational hatred of the bloke, that won't go away.
Like they would know what it's like to play against Barcelona! I don't care what people say about us to be honest, though actually most people seem to hold us in very high regard. Maybe they wouldn't be so generous if they knew where we were headed.
I know what you mean with all this swansea/norwich comparisions and Lambert and Holt...it's so overused and so generic.
I dont understand why you don't like being compared to Swansea. I would have though finishing where they did is what we're aiming for.. I'd take it as a compliment
Mate - i have no problem with Swansea or Norwich - i see both as decent teams. (i do have a slight problem with the Lambert/Holt comparison) My problem is the lazyness of these pundits or so called experts who all over the weekend, be it MOTD or Sky would mention Swansea when asked about Southampton. I love Southampton and take an interest as to how these 'experts' see us doing but instead of anything constructive good or bad all you get is the swansea or norwich comparison - boring. so my rant is not really against Swansea but the media.
