I held back a bit to keep it at just a chuckle. I'll save my ribs for their visit from Man city on Sunday
That's a laugh. When it was first suggested that he might leave nearly everyone on here was in melt-down mode. Some posters got really abused even for suggesting that he might leave. It's just not true at all that no-one on here cared. They cared one hell of a lot.
You don't half talk some rubbish on times Casual! I think everyone on here knows I didn't even want Rodgers at Swansea, and his appointment was a big disappointment for me, and I made that very clear, with 'Brenda the tea lady', where I took some flack, for it. As for his departure, I was very happy to see him go, never bought into his blarney, but I thanked him for not wrecking, the Martinez legacy, and he did give us the cutting edge up front, with Borini, and Sinclair, we were missing. He was a players manager, who was good at motivating the lads, but I doubt very much he'll develop the passing and possession game at Liverpool as he's never ever been able to do it anywhere, we picked him up from the gutter, and our squad made him look good, and resurrected his career, but we've now upgraded from Rodgers thank goodness, and we'll not look back under Laudrup!..................
I second FFS. As we move forward, we will see the past with greater clarity. We will have two reference points to compare with - what ML does with us and what Rodgers does at Liverpool. There will be no hiding at Liverpool.
I never said no one cared. Don't put words in to my mouth I cared he left, I just wasn't to worried as I believed we had a better team than manager.
Casuals got a point Swans-m, most of us were worried when Brendan left because most of us held him in very high esteem and recognised what a good job he d done here. good that weve found someone who looks like they can take us further but shame Brendans image has been soured regarding the Allen saga.
THAT'S the point as far as I'm concerned. I wasn't as hysterical as some on here when he left and wished him all the best. He didn't build us from scratch but it was his tweaks and his signing of Scotty that did it and he deserved a fair amount of credit for that. But when he reneged on the agreement that was it as far as I'm concerned. He is NOT a man of his word.
Maybe it was just me then. But I had full confidence in the board to make a swift appointment to continue and add to our brand of football. They haven't let us down before, why worry?
Oh that had me terrified! Lol. Nahh but the board have never let us down before, who are we to question their judgement considering where we are now and where we were when they took over. All that on a shoe-string budget too...
Well done Dai for putting them right . They are in a right mess & mood over there. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/163489-Liverpool-FC-The-Swansea-Obsession
I was sorry to see him go, at first was a bit angry how he played it out, but it was Liverpool and too big to turn down, i felt that it was too early for him and my main concern was how the players would react and would it cause the bubble to burst, with top players also looking to move on. So far everything seems to be going well, the apointment of Micheal Laudrup was probably one of the only appointments that could have cheered the fans up, im still astonished we pulled that one off, as many Liverpool fans said at the time, "why have we got Brenden rodgers and Swansea have Micheal ****in Laudrup" ., I hope ML will grow into swansea..the club, the city the area etc. and i hope the team can build from his talent, he give mark hughes a roasting tactically on saturday, not bad for his first game, he also had a habit of getting one over Barca and Madrid when in la liga so he has something about him regardless what the negative press have said about his management career. .
What odds for Rogers to be sacked by Christmas and Liverpool to come after Laudrup? Now that will cost them!!
Im not sure Laudrup would fancy that(famous last words!!) he seems a wise old fox and his experience of ruthless owners would probably steer him clear, he clearly enjoyed his day on saturday though, showed plenty of passion on the touchline, looks like he is enjoying it and i think thats probably his main focus right now, as he said himself, the big clubs dont have the draw for him in the same way it does others, pressure to win every game and win trophies every season is something he had plenty of as a player, of course he has ambition but i feel his ambition is slightly different. No matter what happens its very early days, i shall love Laudrup like i loved Bobby ,sousa and Brenden call me a sucker for punishment but i beleive you have to love your football with your heart as well as your head Laudrup just talks common sense, asked about coping with the pressure of the premier league he simply said he has coped with pressure for 30yrs playing for the likes of Barca,Madrid,Ajax and Juventus ... so presure is not a problem he said Love him and hope he can build on saturdays result
I may be wrong here, but money and big clubs don't motivate laudrup very much I think, he appears to want to work at clubs where he can really achieve the impossible and get them to win things. He like Sousa have done it all on the field and earned their fortunes there, so coming to Swansea is more that we fit them and their frame of minds and philosophy. At least that's my take on it
