A cb doesn't really need pace. Full backs do because they need to get back into position, a cb with more pace than the average cb will still not be as quick as the likes of Aguero so pace isn't a key quality you look for in a cb.

I concur that pace is probably not that important for a CB, but I think what he's trying to say is that, in the PL a CB still needs to have more pace than a CB in the lower leagues and it's possible that these to could be found wanting, after the step up. I think comparing. Kompany to our defenders is futile quite like Vidic , resistance is also futile and it's sounds better than your view is futile as well as it sounds incorrect .

Fonte had a great game against City. The stand out best defender by a country mile for me. We need to stick with what we've got now I think. Would like to see a top LB signed instead of Fox, also I prefer Richardson over Clyne but can't do much about that

What does Clyne have over Richardson other than pace? Richardson offers way more in attack with such a good cross, and his positioning is better defensively. He got about 10 assists last season. Richardson will always be underrated though as he isn't flashy and doesn't have pace to burn. I can't do much about that.
