I think the answer is in fining him. Dembele has been professional in going about his business while his agent fields the conversations with teams (such as Real Madrid). Dempsey has refused to play for us and that is deeply unprofessional and disappointing. If Liverpool (or any club) had met our asking price and we had denied him the chance to move, then his actions would at least be understandable. But when no offer has been made... I am very disappointed in Dempsey and frankly I hope the club stand their ground against such petulant behaviour.

Reports are we rejected a derisory bid for him from you earlier in the summer, not sure how true it is though. Good call on your suggestion.

Dembele is great, many have said here he'd be a bigger loss to us than Demps, and I agree. He's not a Fantasy Football player, as in, he doesn't get many goals or assists, but he's at the centre of most of our attacking moves and he's the heartbeat of our team. IMO he's the sort of player you'd be after. Not sure how he'd cope with the step up, he might benefit from one more season with us as he only moved to CM from striker last season.

Diarra and Dembele today looked like the middle of a top quality team. You could see why Diarra played for Real Madrid and why Dembele was Real's fall back for Modric.

So in answer to the question, Dembele is very good. But hands off! ;)

According to Wiki, his name is Moussa Sidi Yaya Dembélé

And cheers, hope you win the league - rather you than City!

No, that's true: Moussa Sidi Yaya Dembele.

Thanks and good luck on Monday. I'll be enjoying Match of the Day tonight and the very real chance of us being top of the league tomorrow morning (Spurs/Newcastle result pending).

ManU offering a reported £5m for Dembele last week is an insult. (was it the young Dembele from PSG!!!)
Ferguson trying to undermine us before we play them....he must be worried:smiley:

Celtic have agreed a price with Swansea, I'd love to see him at fulham, especially as it looks like Dempsey is as good as gone. I reckon the fee could be around 5m-7m.

Someone on this Norwich thread: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/163365-Twitter-quotes says that Norwich are about to launch a bid for Gary Hooper (boo!) and that we have agreed a deal with Huddersfield for Rhodes (hooray!). Of course, none of that is substantiated anywhere that I've seen, so it's merely rumour and hearsay, but it would nice if it was true.

Yup. Apparently he's been playing a squad role recently - something like 16 games last year and scored 5. What I've picked up is that he's still good, just not as good as he was.
