To Southampton FC, their fans, their families and everyone connected to the club for selling Swansea City Nathan Dyer for a mere £400,000. In just a few short years he has gone from being a talented yet wayward young player to the finest English winger in the Premier League. Quite why Woy hasn't seen fit to call him up yet God only knows.
You are absolutely welcome Lone Rangel - he brought our club into disgrace with his antics and we were glad to get rid regardless of his football ability
Whether this is a wind up or not he's a good player. I always liked him at Saints but he had a bit of an attitude problem in his youth and we cashed in too early (though we were desperate for the money at the time) Best of luck to him. Hope he does go on to play for England. Maybe one day Swansea can start to produce the calibre of player that we have been producing consistently over the years.
In all seriousness I still think he's a bit off getting in the England squad, but he has made improvements at Swansea (which, tbf, he was beginning to show at the end of his time with us). Also good to hear that separating him and Bradley Wright-Phillips has helped him to sort himself out off the pitch. Unfortunately though, he's probably only (at most) the 4th best winger we've produced recently. That's the calibre of our youth setup, hopefully you'll be able to improve yours so that you can fill a welsh kit with welsh players.
It's no windup. He's fantastic. Patrice Evra is still having therapy after the hiding he got last season. Fergie dragged him off after 50 minutes. That he's still "a bit off getting into the England squad" speaks volumes for the lack of imagination inherent at the top of the national coaching system. He's easily better than the likes of Walcott, Johnson, Lennon or Downing, although I will concede that AOC looks a good 'un.
Generally, they pick England players from what they view as 'big clubs'. Like us, you will find that however long you stay in the PL you will be treated as if you are just passing through.
Shame as I always rated him, off the pitch he wasn't quite so well, erm, yeah... Lets go to the nightclub Brad and steal some ****.
I always rated him in the youth team though never thought he looked like he would make it in the first team. He does seem to be doing well playing for Swansea. Apparently he is missing going 'out on the rob' with his mate Bradley though.
Seems to be a trend with Swansea fans coming on here thinking they're better than they are. I'm sure most of them aren't like that, we're just unlucky enough to have the couple that are.
Without checking the stats, I suspect that only Walcott came close to Dyer in terms of goals and assists last year. He's properly quick too and doesn't seem to squander the final ball as often as the other wingers mentioned on here. I agree with you.
walcott has much much better stats, johnson and lennon also ahead of dyer in terms of goals and assists
Lallana is better imo, Dyer's got great pace and gets a lot of assists but I think that's it and he doesn't have a good shot on him. Lallana can take on players, cross, tracks back, got a bit of pace and has a decent shot on him.
