how about a proper striker for one? we sold our best player, captain and one of the top strikers in the world. and we replaced him with Giroud. We should have gotten a real, renowned forward who has consistently scored goals in the past few seasons to replace him.
Where do you get those kinds players from and at what price. I thought Pods has scored goals consistently....
Well face it, we are never going to be able to afford the likes of Cavani, Hulk, Falcao etc. Have to be realistic... I would like Llorente but he is very similar to Giroud, not versatile and has a buy out clause in his contract worth 20Mil... dunno who else there is.
All the reports make it sound like Wenger's been fed up with Song for a while, missing training and general bad attitude. I'm sure i remember a story a couple of years ago about him being caught twice by the same policeman driving without a license
about the strikers, i don't know where you find them, but you need to look at our competition. in the PL, if we want to talk about winning it, we're up against man utd, man city and chelsea. man utd now have rooney and van persie. man city have aguero, tevez, dzeko and balotelli. chelsea only have torres, but they're midfield is packed full of players to provide for him as well as score for themselves (hazard, marin, lampard, mata, oscar, meireles) then if we want to challenge for the champions league, we're also up against, barca, madrid, bayern, juventus, milan, inter, psg, etc. barca: messi, villa plus an amazing midfield madrid: benzema, higuain, ronaldo, özil, di maria, kaka bayern: robben, ribery, gomez, müller to name but a few. if we want to be winning these trophies, then our attack needs to be just as good. podolski is good, but the rest are below the level required. our midfield now looks good, our defence as well when fully fit, but we need 1 striker who will score the goals. podolski also plays on the left, he isn't really an out-and-out striker. giroud is, but i'm not convinced by him. beyond them we have chamakh, bendtner (soon to go) and park (probably going). we just don't have the firepower to win these tournaments anymore. now i don't know where we can get them from, but we need to, and i hope wenger realises this. if he doesn't, we may as well just focus on the league and fa cups if we want to win something.
I'd like to see us get another striker in and M'villa - it's about time we didn't have space in the team for all our players - they need to learn to play there socks off or get benched. Also although we have strong options in midfield, we are sure to get a few injuries and Rosicky, Cazorla, Ramsey can all play wide if needed. I have noticed the players we have in our squad now seem to be able to cover several positions. We are becomming far more dynamic, making sure we have different options all over the park. I'm impressed with Wengers movements so far and i'd bet money on us not being finished yet. Personaly i think we will see one more player join after Sahin (but i'd like 2 more!).
You think Alex Song could take Steve Bould in a fight? I know Bould is getting on a bit now, but he's probably still hard as nails.
Steve Bould looks like one those blokes that will fight until the bitter end. I reckon he will have Song.
Could someone explain why the hell we're after Mexes? The guy is more useless than a chocolate teapot in the sahara desert, with the sun directly over said teapot.
It was someone on twitter, one of the arsenal things, apparently we're still trying to swap Bendtner for him.
Bendtner has said that he never wants to play for Arsenal again, therefore **** him - he needs to go. It's a shame though, as he could still have a place in the team, now that RVP has gone.
The only reason Bendtner said that is because he knows he is out of favour here at Arsenal, the fans dislike him and im pretty sure Wenger never had him in his future plans after last season. He is a good striker but belongs at a club who play Europa League football at best As for Nuri Sahin a well respected (very well) Arsenal journo on Twitter has confirmed Sahin has signed for the club this afternoon having had his photography session at London Colney. He will be unveiled as an Arsenal player tomorrow afternoon.
