Re Tarbs - my final word on the matter (for this week anyway) is more on a comment Wenger made about Alex Hleb. Hleb gave the ball away numerous times trying to play a pinpoint, defense-splitting pass. At the end of the game, he got one right and Wenger could justify it by the whole "You've got to try to succeed" (or words to that effect). I thought Hleb was a great player to watch as I do AT. Wenger's comments only apply if there is a success to counter balance the failed attempts. In that, I totally agree with you Queens - he does have to produce and he doesn't have the circumstances to hide behind. It's only one game and no-one produced (but we can see the potential of Hoilett and others despite this and AT did a couple of sublime passes to the left side but again the end result wasn't there). I guess there must be a time where Taarabt could fall into the category of wasted talent but, for me, it's too early to do that because I still enjoy watching him do his magic too much and he's a little too young to write him off yet. It might have to happen though. That said, I do still sometimes look up Denilson (the old Betis player) on Youtube and he's as much of a wasted talent as I've ever seen. I don't do that with the success stories like the Roy Keanes of the world. I love skill I guess.

Just pondering how to maintain a bit of balance, sometimes I despise myself for wasting time on here and posting crap in response to crap........it's been a long summer, the work travel kicks in again next week and equilibrium will be restored, when the forum becomes a lifeline rather than an addiction. Sorry Jammers, didnt realise it was for me.. I have not pinned any hope on Tarbs as i dont think he will deliver. I believe we have a strong enough team to come good and we will get better. I believe in our players but am not willing to bestow all the accolades that a possible maybe player might get !! Its a team game and our team will do it...just do go praising T when its the TEAM that do it ! Top post though Jammers!
Another thing Queens - with our much improved midfield, we have enough competition for places that we're not completely reliant on AT for a creative spark and he'll ultimately get what his performances warrant. I still think he'll come good (as you still harbour doubts) but Hughes won't put himself in a position where he's jeopardising his job just because he likes watching Adel to step-overs so he will be judged on output.
