To be fair I thought they had hit lucky yet again with the late penalty but, after watching the game it was a blatant pen so they just played well . . . . . . . . . . . . . lucky twats.

 

We were lucky for nearly all of last season.

Talked to a plakka mag yesterday (from Blackhall) right next door to Hartlepool and even he said he doesn't know how they won on Saturday. I can recall a game when Sunderland beat Villa 1-0 and were dreadful. The week after was Halloween so here's hoping mags luck runs out vs chelsea.

 

There were elements of luck, good luck that Spurs hit the post (just as it would be bad luck had we hit it) and bad luck that their goal was offside. They were the better team in the first half, but still didn't create too much. We changed the system in the 2nd and it worked. The stats show that Spurs had more shots, but their shooting accuracy was poor and most of them were long range pot shots. We dominated possession and 2 bits of individual skill was the difference. Arsenal had more possession and FAR more shots, but again, most of these were off target. They lacked those moments of brilliance and the game was an even draw - that's not really luck, that's the ability of the players and the togetherness of the team.

As for the cards, I think Atkinson was too ready to hand out yellows yesterday, booking lads for their first fouls etc. There wasn't a single yellow in your game despite there being a similar number of fouls, it all just depends on the ref!

 

It was never a penalty - Hatem ben Arfa was asking to be kicked up a height so surely that means no foul??

 

That was my first thought mate then I saw two Spurs players assault him and it was a no brainer unfortunately.

 

They had clearly been well warned by AVB to take him down at all costs, not sure if he meant in the box though

 

If you are going to do it outside the box is more preferable just my opinion mind, hopefully AVB is reading this lot and taking it in.
