Yes I am bitter, Aguero was my captain in my fantasy team and he got subsituted after 15 minutes, giving me a grand total of two points. <cry>

Looks a pretty serious injury - Clyne did a good job on him.

I thought Southampton did very well. Man Citeh underestimated them and looked lazy. They can play when they want to, as was demonstrated when they went behind.

Same! And just to top it off, Fernando Torres was my vice captain ..

I hope Rooney, my other striker, can bring in the big points or I've had one heck of a bad gameweek! <laugh>

And as for Clyne's tackle on Aguero ..

    DIRTY, FILTHY SCUMMERS.

But not the TV evidence. Good tackle - if those are still allowed nowadays in a supposed contact sport! Bad luck that he fell badly. Happens all the time at all levels.

I also have or had (removing tomorrow ) Aguero, i also felt for him because he is not a player to act or fake a injury, a genuine up and at them footballer and anyone who has suffered a knee injury will know the pain of a twist and the numbness that follows that makes you think its ok now, and then the realism when you try to put weight on it and walk.
On the plus as a Saints fan, we seem to have a brought a very good English young right back with pace and who can tackle right.
Again on the plus side, i have Nasri in my side and was shrewd enough to pick Cech instead of Hart.

A Saints fan friend of mine was giving it the billy big spuds on Facebook yesterday - as I said to him, it doesnt matter if you "gave Citah a run for their money, or scored 2 goals" - you still conceaded 3......you got 0 points.

If you start celebrating after a 3-2 loss then you are in for a very hard and long season......

Well, we'll be able to judge this result soon enough because after Wigan Southampton have to play Man Utd then Arsenal, so if they can perform to a similar standard and give those teams a run for their money then we'll have to accept that Southampton are better than most people expected.

We cannot judge the next performance on the previous one!

Each 90 minute game is its own entity, against different opposition with different qualities.

You can punt a guess, but never draw conclusions!

Points are the key to staying in any division but although I was gutted we didn't take away 1 point, I felt it was more about how we preformed with a starting line up with only 2 players with any Premiership experience there was and make no mistake, there still is Questions to be asked but in general there were mainly pluses to take from the game.
I think for both clubs for different reasons there is still much to do to establish a good league footing.
