And yet we did create, plenty of good chances.Team will only get better the more they play together.Paul Green had a very good game, would be happy with that every week. shots.Leeds 11/6 on target.Leicester 5/2 on target. If only Leicester had a midfield as good ay.
I would much rather our midfield Shots and shots on target can be very misleading as over hit through balls that go through to the keeper count as a shot on target. At the end of the day we scored 2 and you got 1
I suspect Green will be rested for a couple of weeks considering his knee injury, and I would like to see Brown in there instead alongside Austin. Austin is awesome - we need a new song for him along the tune of the 6 million dollar man - and Brown has shown he has a better engine and better football nous than most of our players. Then once we have tired the opposition out, bring on Diouf, either to replace Brown, Norris or Varney, depending on who is needing a rest most (or who is playing worst). But I want to see McCormack staying on the pitch - sick of managers taking the easy option and subbing him whn he is playing well and linking the team up well, he is so creative. Also want to see Peltier stay at centre back. He and Pearce didn't let anything get past them when they were playing together. Lees is not commanding enough, he can be understudy to Byram for the right back role.
If we're going to play someone out of position at RB I'd rather Zac Thompson play there instead of Lees
Kisnorbo was good for us when he came, and Gradel tore the league apart. Shame he was tempted away by money.
Good shout LiE, I'd forgotten about Zack. Seems NW may have too. I think he is a great little player. Get Lees abck onut on loan at some League 1 club. Like Millwall? Know what you are saying Marko. But I thought Pelts was great in the middle, much better than when he went to right back. I'd prefer that central solidity and use others to tinker with the RB (and LB) slots
Peterborough are one of the relegation favourites, Wolves are one of the promotion favourites, as a consequence, pointing out that you scored one more goal is rather sad.
A win against Wolves with the likes of Jarvis and Doyle in the side is a good win in my book. Most Championship sides won't come up against them after the end of this month. And the situation about giving the armband to Peltier is a good move. It should be him or Pearce. Austin doesn't need that burden, just let him do his job in the centre and continue to boss the midfield. Not going to get too excited yet but we could well be seeing the the best acquisition of all in this league this season. He was immense yesterday. MOT
Austin was a player that excited me, I was very pleased when we secured him. The one player I wish we had went for and who I feel could be the signing of the season for the chmpionship is Aluko - How did he do for you on Saturday? Also Proshwitz did he show any signs of being worth a gamble at £2M+ ??
I've got a funny feeling that Warnock's going to try and convert Pelts into a center back. He's done well when he's played there. As for been Captain he's seemed lively as a center back not the quiet right back that Leicester fans told us he was although to be honest I don't 110% trust Warnocks captain choices (Adel Tarrabt and Joey Barton) but Pelts seems an honest and hard working lad so i don't have any problems with him been the captain. Did well against wolves, Gary Mac pointed out Jason Pearce but I thought Pelts did as well if not better most of the time.
The way the team were set out everyone had a reserve position to fill in. Austin dropped back to help the central defenders, Peltier pushed out to assist Byram as did Green with his tracking back and Pearce for White, they did seem very well drilled and seemed to stick to their tasks well
Same Aluko looked quality for Rangers and I just wished Warnock had put his nose in for him although not really a Warnock signing (young, skillfull, nifty ect) probably could of been our replacement for Snoddy but oh well we've got Varney for that.
While I agree with the masses regarding Peltier doing well at CB. If he does stay at CB and push Lees to the bench then we would have to sign another RB. Byram isn't ready and he didn't do terrible against Wolves but he did definitely seemed the weak link to me, players around him shouldn't have to cover a player so much, thats how other players can find themselves making mistakes. I would personally rather Lees at CB and Pelts at RB And I was actually very impressed with Pearce, very solid player, can't think of anything really that got past him. Very good in the air as well
To be clear, I was satisfied with the performance against a dispirited Wolves side, but a few for the record... Equally though, the team will only get more tired and unfocussed the more they play, especially in a squad whose size and depth is being highlighted as an issue by the manager who's created it. I thought he was our worst player by far. Down on the floor all the time, getting ragged by Wolves players, failing to pass anywhere other than sideways and backwards, failing to worry his opposing fullback. Hope I never see him play for Leeds again based on that performance and the reviews of him from Derby, especially on the bloody wing.
I think your being a little harsh on Green to be fair. He isn't a winger and its very clear to me however I thought he did quite well, he obviously isn't going to beat a man at all and really should be reserved to fighting Norris for a place alongside the beast. But he did well to cover Byram, he on occasion picked out some neat passes and in general we looked worse when he went off. I have already stated that he was down every time the ball was out of play but I think its too early to tell whether thats because he is getting stuck in and getting niggles because of it or whether he just needs to toughen himself up And for the record, I think our worse player by far was Varney, total crap from him. Terrible touch, terrible shot and terrible decision making
I don't know how they would become less focused, not sure where you're coming from with that one, and tiredness shouldn't take hold until the latter part of the season, plenty of time and another transfer window before that (and this one still hasn't closed with a takeover 'imminent')! It looks promising to me
