According to Dutch newspaper 'De Gelderlander' Manchester United made a bid on left back Alexander Büttner. Büttner was linked with Southampton earlier but a late change in terms on the deal forced Southampton to back out. The newspaper states that Vitesse and the player have agreed a deal with Manchester United and that a medical test is due for monday. This is what i wrote for the Southampton board 2 months ago Fast, agile player, bit short, just 5ft 9. But he is strong and has great stamina and endurance. Very consistent player and has a high work rate. Mentally strong and not complacent. He lacks a bit in technique, but can throw in a good cross. His passing is decent and he can shoot from distance. However, his tactical insight is below par. He still needs mature a bit in that department. Like i said good pace, great tackling, Man marking is above par just his height and his jumping can be a disadvantage. To add some for the ManU I can't see him play for Manchester United. Although he had a great season, he is not top class material. In fact, if he gets subbed in 4 times this season I would be surprised. He would be good enough for Southampton, but not for Sir Alex Ferguson.
Thanks Cove. Could be decent back up to evra then. Anyway we are also set to sign this guy according to reports in italy http://www.calciomercato.com/prima-pagina/cm-scouting-herrera-colpo-dello-united-771648 One of the stars of the Olympics
Fabio is way better IMHO. It's big news on this side of the pond, but all I can do is laugh. This is clearly a transfer forced upon from Büttners agent. please log in to view this image
He'll be a decent squad player (in my opinion he should of played at the Euro's instead of Willems once Pieters was ruled out injured) but I can't see him being Evra's long term replacement, although he is still pretty young so he has plenty of time to improve.
Either that, or an attempt by Vitesse to get a higher offer from Saints by trying to make it look like they have bids from big name clubs.
Tanmay @Cantona_mufc7 David Gill confirms Manchester United have been offered Kaka on a season long loan, and Ferguson is considering it Erm........ erm..... Fergies just thought **** it hasnt he
