    What have people made of the young Italian so far?

    Had some good parts today and some where he disappeared (still better than Downing). I initially thought he was our new man up top and there to be our tap in merchant, yet he seems to be played out wide, I guess Rodgers knows more than me. Saying that he set up Suarez with a nice cross for him to inevitably miss, would like to see their roles reversed.

    Agreed, seems like Suarez has picked up where he left off last year...

    Wasn't all that impressed with him today to be honest

    He's supposed to be similar to, but an upgrade of, Dirk Kuyt though so I'm fascinated to see how well he'll do against City next week, and whether he will offer the same amount of hard work, concentration and dicipline that Dirk surely would.

    Like I said when we bought him, he looks a good player but he's no goal scorer. A player more similar to Suarez.

    Too early to tell.

    But he is better than Downing that is true - then again who isn't.

    Borini is a natural born goal scorer.
    Your front 3 should be;

    Suarez--------------the Morroccan
    -----------Borini-------------------

    Second picks;

    Gerrard-----------------Sterling
    ------------Carroll--------------

    Downing should be consigned to the bin.

    Thank god, we'd have to put up with your board all day as opposed to the occasional leak.

    If he's not wanted please could we have him back at the Swans. If you need a wide-man we could do a straight swop for Sinclair! I still maintain if we had kept him last year we would have finished top 6, the guy while he was with us seemed to have everything in abundance but that was in the Championship. I'd have him back with us in a blink.

    Me, Tony Blair, Nigel Mansel, Nigel Lawson, Maggie Thatcher, Jeremy Clarkson, Mr. Spoon, Bagpuss, the Anfield Cat, the wonderpets, bat fink, the pope, the late mother Teresa, father Ted, the Queen, Mr Bean...

    ... quite a lot of people actually... sorry... I'm a bit of a dumbarse today.

    As for Borini... thought he was rather poor to tell the truth... Downing probably is better than Borini's performance... However, that said, it's difficult to be good when the rest of the team are poor... and we were poor... even Gerrard couldn't manage a 10 yard pass.

    I'm not concerned... I won't judge anyone from a single performance... especially not in a game that dire. I remember how crap Skrtel was on his debut... and on the flipside- Voronin was pretty nifty on his.

    Watching tonight, I just really don't know what he offers exactly?

    Certainly hasnt shown anything to get really excited about yet.... To be fair, i think Carroll is the better option at the moment.

    Think that's a little harsh. He should of put his chance away for sure but he was very unlucky with a couple of runs being called marginally offside......works very hard up front and some good movement off the ball; I think he'll come good tbh......but I've said that about Downing! <laugh>

    I'm all for giving him time to settle and get going, its just I can't think of what he offers or does? pacey striker, winger, suarez type, goal poacher, hold the ball up, or none of the above.

    Didn't seem to offer a lot but moan, would of like to seen Morgan play a bit more of the game.

    He's supposed to have similar attributes to Dirk Kuyt so I'll be keeping an eye on him against Man City as they are the type of team that you need to rely on hardworking players like Kuyt in order to get a result against

    Hard worker??? Hate businesses and teams where hard workers are always favoured...Whack in some flair or we will have no penetration......Not convinced yet by Borini..

    Not a great game for him today or last weekend. I'd be surprised if he plays against Man city on Sunday. Surely based on todays evidence Sterling is a better option for the left hand side?
