Well pretty drab first half but second half we looked decent. Wes Morgan lead by example and we was patient and got the breakthrough in the end from a corner!!! When was the last time we scored a corner? Schmeichel-7 didnt have much to do but made a few decent saves De Laet-7 Looked good going forward and solid defensively Morgan-9 MOTM, Solid at the back and he got the goal that got us going Moore- 8 Didnt have alot to do but he was solid at the back Konchesky-7 Reliable as ever and got forward well second half Marshall-7.5 He put some good crosses in the box and set up Morgan's goal, Peterborough doubled up on him everytime he got the ball Drinkwater-8 Did very well in possession and kept the ball moving well James-7 Put in some decent tackles and he looks like a better version of Andy King Dyer- 7 He tried to make things happen and made alot of decent runs without and end product Vardy- 7.5 He worked very well and made their keeper made a good save in the second half, He set up King's goal but I think it will take a few more weeks until we see the real Jamie Vardy. I think he will be a class act as this level Beckford-7 Should of scored in the first half, he worked but not alot happened for him King-7 He took the goal very well and did well when he came on Knockaert-7 Some decent skills and his work rate is very good for an out and out winger. He tried to make things happen. Nugent- Not on long enough Overall it was a very good performance and before people say it was just Peterborough. It was teams like Peterborough we struggled to beat last season, we didnt have any trouble with the top sides it was the lower midtable sides we kept losing to. I think Nigel is building something very good here and we looked like a team for the first time in ages
Peterborough came and parked the bus and we struggled to break them down - They were never going to score against us, but we won a game in which we didn't play particularly well in - That pleases me immensely
If you want a laugh then go onto the forums of Liverpool, Norwich and QPR, it's like their whole world has collapsed! Anyway let's hope for more of the same and a little consistency now. Well done NP
Reminded me of the performances we had under Nige when we made the play-offs. Dull first halves as we worked out the competition, then went for it second half. How many times was it 0-0 at halftime that season? This approach served us well then. Hopefully it will again.
When we made the playoffs, our strikers wern't great, it was the fact that we were so tight at the back. I dont care if we win by 1 goal every game, its better than winning one 4-0 and then losing 1-3 in the next
I think some of us already know fryatt is not always great . He gets us the goals but often misses easy chances.. Hopefully he will score as many as last season and a few more IF Jay Simpson doesn't nick his place.. 3 points for The Tigers and 3 points for The Foxes .
Solid enough start, as stated, pretty poor 1st half, much improved 2nd, not entirely convinced about that midfield tho, think we needed some of Danns energy. But in general im happy enough, having said that its only one game, i think we will have a much better picture after 10-12 matches
"How many times was it 0-0 at halftime that season? This approach served us well then. Hopefully it will again". During that season it was 0-0 at half time 15 times. 4 of them went on to finish 0-0 2 finished 1-1 7 finished with a LCFC win of which 5 of them were 1-0 2 finished with a lose both 0-1 Of the 15 half time 0-0 we went on to keep a clean sheet in 11 of them 17 Clean sheets were kept that season We scored 61 goals that season lowest of the top 6 Of that 61 goals 40 were scored at home and 21 away We lost a total of 12 games 4 at home and 8 away.
Whilst the grief the "Peterborough Peado" got was funny - It caused me to miss our 2nd goal Yet more proof (if any was needed) that they need to swap the family stand & the kop round - Away fans singling out members of the family stand for unwanted attention is not great for the familys
No ****, if Fryup took his chances he´d get 35 goals a season. Normally he´s one of the best STR´s in the lge, BUT the goals per sitters (chances) ratio makes him average at best. I don´t miss him. Hobbs how ever was missed at first but I think we have better in this pos now. Still a good players though. Good starts for us both (HU & LC) so that puts some pretty nasty banter on hold til...
Sorry forgot to add... was there abit of aggro after the game ? FOXTALK says a very large PU fan held a LC fan above his head, threw him on the floor & laid the boot in because he threw a coin at someone (own fault) plus a couple of PU fans got nicked by 6 coppers outside the holiday express / pud just outside the ground ? Anyone know any thing about them ?
Fryatt and Hobbs sat in front of me yesterday, both wearing very well tailored grey suits, though Fryatt had his top button undone. More sartorial elegance updates on your ex-players to follow shortly...
If a Leicester fan has taken a beating for throwing a coin then I'm glad - I hope it cures him of this stupid habit and I hope the PU fan did not get nicked
