Hasn't learn much over the summer by the looks of it. I'm afraid he loses the ball far to easily for a premier league midfielder. We need a left winger, Mclean is a very useful impact sub but needs time to master himself before he has a regular starting position. Thoughts?
while i think he had a bad game i think its a bit to early to be saying he hasnt learned anything!!!! remember he will probs still be a bit rusty he only played 2 pre-season games with us after what was a very hectic start to his safc career.
I think we need to remember the lad just came out of the league of Ireland. It's a massive step up for him. Towards the end of last season a lot of clubs were doubling up on him, thus he was drawing two defenders out of the game & still getting crosses in. He's gonna have the odd bad game. Bit early to be writing the lad off.
I havn't wrote the Mclean off. However I don't think he is ready for a regular starting position in the premier league just yet. Bearing in mind Mclean was playing in the league of Ireland recently, I think Mclean should be starting from our subs bench until such time he learns to attack without exposing the team to having to track back whenever he loses the ball by trying to place the ball through the opposition defenders legs.
This! lol He did have a poor game, but none of our attackers had a good game. Also it's James McClean
They are sadly in very short supply in the United Nations my friend. Plenty of right ones mind. I shall speak to Hilary Cliton next time I see her, .
I too was at the game and he was very poor. He didn't take his man on once and lacked his energy but the temperature was in excess of 30 degrees and me thinks the Irish lad was just sapped of energy because of it. Plenty of time yet to make amends and far too early to write the kid off in all honesty.
After 1 game, this thread has come out? Let's all calm the **** down. Away to arsenal was hardly going to be a McLean showcase game. Let's see where he's at after 10 games.
I'd rather have a winger who lost the ball keep trying to beat his man, than one who doesn't make any impression. Simple.
It will be the same people who said we are going to get relegated because we aren't signing anybody, that are now eating their words and will be after this as well.
Remember this time last year he was an unknown to most of us, so he's come a long way! He really needs to work on his right foot though because he's beginning to become too predictable!
He didn't have the best of games yesterday, but I firmly believe that the lad will have a big part to play this season...
Sad ****ers. He is awesome Ffs, your knowledge and craic is ****ing gash u ****ing ****s! Site is **** and your patter bored me, sOuth west coner! Q up
