    Disappointing yes, but no disaster
We´ve had worse days as we all know,
They were more skilful, hungry and faster
Than us, and by george did it show

But one awful day at the office
Does not mean the season ends here,
Nor does it mean we´re just a novice
    Competing in the rarified air

Too many read much into one game
Defeats we´ll have along the way,
I guarantee that we´ll not see the same
When QPR turn up to play

At least now for all down at Colney
They won´t put their feet up and rest,
It´s back to the basics, if only
To make sure we win the next test

And should we, much will be forgotten
From this less than fine afternoon,
And help lift us clear of the bottom
So cheer up, and less of the gloom. OTBC

Hi RBF, can we say Fulham were lucky? ;)

Just a bad day at the office, when results like that come thick and fast, that's when I'll worry!

Exactly dave, it was always likely to come back and kick Hughton in the teeth, the fact that he had worked with Jol, the same thing happened last season when we were blown away at Sunderland, with Lambert going back to Martin O´Neill.

We should all certainly expect much better on Saturday.

Hi RBF bor, have to agree with CH, for the first 25mins we looked secure, you can't leave a winger unattended, that is asking for trouble.

Duff was totally unmarked when he received the pass and all Ruddy could do was to do the left back's job.
Both R Bennett and Turner were repeatedly drawn out of position to cover this position; whereas Russell Martin, who had not only a winger to contend with but Riise as well, did ok.

Fulham definitely adopted the correct tactics, probing with long balls into our defence, bypassing our packed midfield.

CH is still having to find the relative playing strengths of the squad, hopefully he finds the answer quickly to the problem. On the bright side it was the first game of the season and not the last game as last time.
Gives us time to rectify the situation.

Tell Rex to standby to provide that "bite" LOL.

Not seen any high/lowlights of the game yet NORKIE, so far only ´seen´what I´ve heard, so I´ll take your word for it. Putting Rex on standby!

RBF bor, feel sorry for CH, I think he deserves a better performance than the team gave today. Like Northampton said, there was definitely a lack of effort, especially once the first goal was scored.

Passing from A to B to C to D, back to A etc, might look good football but what wins games is intelligent initiative. Only once in the first half was there a defence splitting pass and that was provided by Holty to Surman, otherwise there was no support for him up front. Nobody wanted to make the effort to get in the box.

I cant comment on the second half, I was that disgusted with the lack of effort, I found something more important to do. Losing 5-0 doesnt bother me at all, seen it before, but lack of effort, that is a different matter. I just hope McNally has inserted a clause in contracts if we are relegated.

Hey one result let's not use the r word

It will always be tough for us at the top table and we will always take a few spankings, unfortunately or from my view fortunately we do not have a money bags to buy us out of trouble so we will yoyo forever up and down I might be less than normal but I find the passage of good / bad / indifferent increases the enjoyment and fascination of being a fan
Could never support a club tin the top seven where failure can't happen and it's just about different levels of " success"

Found a QPR fan in my hotel tonight top bloke still wore his shirt as he loves his club despite thier dismal start

Let's forget today and get ready for next Saturday but be patient if we lose again no moaning just smile and enjoy the moment please we are in the PL no easy days available!

I'm sorry RBF but we've just had the worst start we've ever had to a Premier League season and I really think there is a time and a place for the prose. We were **** yesterday and I'm more than a little worried. My gut feeling is the same as it was pre season, it's going to be a long hard season ending with relegation. I hope I'm wrong, really I do, but I think we'll see local derbies at Carrow Road and the Portaloo next season :emoticon-0106-cryin

It's always going to be tough for us at the top table I just intend to enjoy it while we are there
I know little about mr Hewtun and am looking forward to seeing how he reacts to this poor showing hopefully some good gentlemanly type arse kicking and refocus to QPR

I´m not going to please everyone all of the time kickitoff, not trying to cover up the deficiencies from yesterday, just trying to keep things in perspective, if we produce the same kind of show for the next 5 games, then I´ll concede that we have major problems, but after one game, no.

Best will in the world, RBF, I don't venture near your threads any longer as I don't consider myself a poet - nor wish to be one.

But quite how you can locate rhyme in grime, verse in worse (than we ever had to tolerate last season), or humour in bloomer (Lambert would NEVER have gone into a match with that formation) bewilders me - but there we go, good job it's a marathon and not a sprint.

In all honesty Cromer, we can´t set much store in what Lambert might or might not have done, he´s a thing of the past. Hopefully Hughton will work out, and quickly, what needs to be done to turn things around, totally agree with you as regards the marathon by the way.
