Yeah, some of them judged a rebuilding season as the finished article and whined so loudly they sacked Kenny. And you were one of them. It was half a ****ing season! With silverware! But it's early days and it's one game. He hasn't had a chance to work with the players and get his ideas across so West Brom fans will just have to give Steve Clarke some patience.
I agree were not good enough for top four, hence my sixth place prediction. However, my point was, today's game doesn't prove anything because it was just that, one game! Anyway, as if the day couldn't get any worse, I'm off out to fetch the ****ing mrs!
Think the most worrying thing is that we were out muscled in many areas. Lucas looked, unsurprisingly, a little off the pace as did Gerrard . Downing is just poor but don't pin your hopes on sterling. Good player but he is not the answer to our woes. Top four will be tough but we haven't lost it today it's along haul and a win over city and everything will be Rosie. Also arsenal drew at home today 0-0 no RVP no goals..wonder if their fans are on bemoaning the fact they sold him Let's not panic and fall out over one game. WBA are no pushovers at home and until that wonder strike we were the better team and they didn't look like scoring. Two bad ref decisions esp second one and that's it game over. So onwards and upwards.
See my previous comments about Bolton...could be the kiss of death. However it's good to see any side managed by Hughes give a good hiding.
Rebuilding or not, 8th position is unacceptable for Liverpool to finish in. Especially after spending the amount of money he did on so many underperforming players.
It's not an excuse it's a simple statement of fact. If Everton beat or draw with United on Monday do you think all the united fans will be whining about how the league is lost???? Looking on here & twitter I honestly think there are some people who should just nail themselves to a cross & do the martyr thing properly! But y'all go right ahead and run in circles crying DOOM! See if I have to suffer through the types of online hysterics that I witnessed last season I might do the old fogey thing & abandon the modern technology because I think the microwaves obviously destroy the brain.....
We need to throw money at it. Strikers, wingers, midfielders, defenders buy everyone. Even QPR are splashing out more than us and look how awesome they are! HOW can you not see this Lucaaas?
Right, have we all got it out of our system? Let us go our separate ways, meet up again here tomorrow, and never speak of this again.....
It's only 1 game and the first one of a new season. $th was not lost today. It could even become more of a reality as we pick ourselves up from this.
Its a crap result but at the end of the day you can only lose 3 points from one game. We have to make sure we learn and move on.
Bad news... that was terrible... even first half when we were the better team we looked very poor... that game looked more like a league 1 game at times in terms of quality. Good news... we won't be that bad again... first league game... first competative game against a decent opposition... we WILL improve... how much is anyone's guess... Ref wasn't technically wrong but seemed much harsher on us... it was going to be hard even if we were inform. Gerrard was unusually bad today... he won't usually be. Lucas is a little unfit... he will get fitter... Allen's first game... he will get better. Suarez looked good and probably would have scored a few if he didn't keep getting fouled. 4th is still very possible... but only if we improve dramatically and not take too long... We will defo improve a lot... but how much and how quickly is a big unknown.
Blackpool won 4-0 versus Wigan in 2010. Bolton won 4-0 versus QPR last year. Remind me what happened? If the positions in May were based on the opening games of the season, those two would have walked it. Yes, we were ****. But we're not likely to give away 2 penalties and go down to 10 men many times this season. Too soon to be saying so emphatically what we will or won't have done come May.
Very true. If dagger hadn't been penalised we could have ended that with one or more points. Alas he was... and we need to improve... and we will.
I refer to my previous comment before the game started that not matter what the result we shouldn't get carried away. Didn't see any of it but by reading/hearing about the game we dominated possession, created lots of chances but failed to take any (sounds a lot like last season) and the 2 pens and red card were harsh (coming from Charlie Nicholas who I don't think has ever said a good word about Liverpool FC). A win would have been ideal going into a tough run of games but so be it. Opening day is always a bit weird. No one is in form, lots of newmanagers/players trying to strike new partnerships and some come quicker than others. Lets gve it 10 games then we can reflect on what the season holds.
