I'm not watching it at the moment, but those who are, am I right in thinking our defensive solidity from pre-season is nowhere to be seen, and Holt on his own isn't working?

We need to drop someone from midfield and get someone else up front, no link there.

Defending looks shaky to long balls, first day nerves?

That just about sums it up DH, sorry to say.

We must play 4-4-2 much, much more, even away!

No over reactions necesary, bad day at the office so far, but they ae going to get a massive bollocking for defending like a pub team, and there is no point playing Holt on his own up front, hoof it up to him no support, they attack again ffs

****ing useless, still, that's what happens when you shop in Lidl. I predicted a 2-0 deafeat and TBH we'd do well to keep it to less than 5-0 based on that first 45 minutes ! Absolutely nothing up front Holt can't do it on his own at his age and in this heat. Tell me, are there still posters on here who don't think we need to spend big on a striker ? Or have you still got your heads buried in the sand ?

I'm not enjoying this any more than you guys are, but 45 mins of football should not be enough to form such strong opinions. We haven't defended brilliantly, but at the end of the day Fullham are playing very well, and we are away from home so we were never going to be comfortably winning.

And this has nothing to do with Holt, or a lack of strikers for me. I don't think Messi could get much done for us the way we're playing.

I hope that Holt patrolling the centre circle and the other ten behind the ball is not Hughton's idea of a tactic to employ away from home this season <yikes>

We're making Fulham look better than they are.

are you actually watching the game? We need someone to get the ball to Holt, hes barely touched it! Snodgrass is being crowded out and there's no real link there. We seem to be resorting to long balls.
Tierney needs to just stay in position, hes getting found out all the time.

Don't panic yet. We never win first game of the season.

But we had days like this under Lambert too, so don't read too much into it!

I don't really buy that to be honest, at the end of the day we are the away team, we are not going to turn up and dominate a top half team like Fullham on their own pitch!

For all the Tierney lovers - he has been found out on more than one occassion in the first 45 minutes! Looks woefully out of position in relation to the centre back.

Where do you get the idea of dominating from?
'm not talking about dominating I was hoping for a reasonable performance that's all and at the moment it's not too close to being reasonble

So you don't think we switched off, were not tight enough??

    ^that

and I do normally like Tierney. It's a developing partnership but hes taking too many risks right now.

Some of these reactions are embarassing. We're losing 2-0 yes, but we were ****e against Wigan last year first day of the season, to say it's going to be a long season, we're going to get relgated etc.(before the transfer window has even closed) is embarassing. ****ing chill

I just said we're making Fulham look better than they are - which is true, by having no shape and no wide threat to get the ball to Holt.
Pretend Fulham are Ajax and that's roughly what we're watching!
