Michael Owen - Disappointed

Good evening, Manchester United fan in peace here. I'm not here to WUM, but I have a point that I'd like to get across to the sensible Newcastle fans.

Michael Owen has said on Twitter: "From a personal point of view it was nice to get on. Got a poor reception off the home fans which was disappointing."

I'm absolutely shocked the way Michael was welcomed back to St James' Park, I know a few of your fans were the ones who were responsible, but I still believe Michael Owen should have at least been shown a bit more respect. Let's put as side rivalry for a moment, Michael Owen has represented our country and has proven that he was/he is a legend. So, why would you resort to booing an incredible player? I personally believe there was no need for that sort of behaviour. It's understandable that he left your club for obvious reasons, I do not blame you for having a go at him. But, it's time this came to an end.

He's also said: "Knew I would get booed as that's what a lot of fans do but if they knew the facts then they may have a different opinion."

I hope your views on Michael Owen change sometime soon. Also, please refrain from contributing negativity to this thread.

I know that your trying to avoid this kind of response but if he'd actually played half decent and put in half as much effort as he should then maybe we wouldnt boo him

Nothing but a mercenery and couldn't be bothered in our relegation season. Couldn't wait to pick up his wage instead of his team.

 

So we are only allowed to post positive things about Michael Owen? No thank you .

He knew he would get a **** reception, he posted so before the game. If he is willing to take over £100,000 a week from our club and look like he would rather be anywhere else but on the pitch playing for us - he has to accept we will hate him.

If he put the effort in when he was at the club, he might have got a positive reception. But he didnt give a **** about anything other than the money. So no, I am not going to post about how good Owen was when he was 21. And he is not a ****ing England legend.

 

Owen should stick to ****ing his horses.

None of you here are aware of the truth to why he left. I'd honestly laugh if it turned out the club wanted him gone, and it wasn't a decision he made. Seeing as some of you here think he chose to left.
