Disputed man of the match last week
Many people giving him credit for today

Are you all changing your opinion on him. Personally i've always rated him but even i was suprised at how well he played tonight

Yeah at the start of the new PL season I thought him and Barton would be our first choice CM. He's decent enough to be in the squad that's for sure.

Improved hugely since West Brom, another solid performance today.

Always rated him, I am not shy to say it, look at my username <doh>

In all seriousness, he was great tonight and has hopefully proved some of his doubters wrong (especially on here).

He's still young, if we keep giving him a reasonable amount of playing time he will improve

Best game in a Newcastle shirt. Has to keep pushing on though.

Isn't that what we've been waiting for Vuckic for?

Well I think Guthrie's more technically gifted but y'know. Hopefully it'll be Vuckic in a few years time. Barton, Ireland and Guthrie. All good passers and when you think of them you think ''Creativity and technique'' <ok>.

    That's just me though.

I don't think of Nolan as a technical player which is why i didn't think it was like for like although i do think given time Guthrie will be able to replace him

He's needed a prolonged run in the side at CM and is thriving now

I thought he did really well today but I'd like to see him get a bit more adventurous. His natural game is a similar style to Alonso, sitting back and spraying passes around but with Tiote next to him I'd like to see him pushing onwards more often.

He's still young though, and definitely got potential (in my opinion anyway ;) )

I've given him stick in the past and to be fair he had a good game tonight and is looking more the PL player than he has before - although he needs to show consistency with that level of performance now...
