I thought he played really well when he came on. He show great desire, energy and skill. Just what our squad needs.

    Thoughts on his performance?

what are you on about mate xD!?!
He had like 4 touches of the ball and made a few good runs.
can't be convinced by 30 mins of play.
start him against blackpool I say.

Did OK, didn't really get on the ball and could have played Ranger through rather than go short, but that link up play will come with time.

I thought he did well to say, considering he's played naff all football for a few months. He seemed up for it though. Start him against Blackpool.

Thought he had good movement, he can score goals and create goals. Defo wud start him against Blackpool in place of Guthrie (I know people think he played well but he did sum **** passes and Ireland is better)

Definitly deserves a start on Sat.. but over who? Nolan's back and Guthrie doesn't deserve to be dropped. Mmm..

I thought he was impressive. Looked comfortable on the ball, good movement and was quite sharp and alert to everything. Could've had a goal as well <ok>

Drop Loverman, i like him and all but we've got too many quality CMs and i can't see him leading the line by himself

But Ireland actually capitalises on flick ons, like Nolan. Although to be fair the only header I remember Shola cleanly winning was the one immediately after Ireland came on and before Shola went off. Have to say that Lovenkrands' work rate impressed me today though, and seems to have added a bit of physicality to things to try to fill in for Nolan.

Didn't look match fit at all, but what do you expect really. Next game start Ireland instead of Ameobi, keep Nolan on the bench as Guthrie doesn't deserve to be taken out of the team .

If we had another quality striker fit i'd pick Loverman over Shola but as a lone striker you've got to pick Shola

^ Actually not really. Against Blackpool Loverman's pace could trouble them(they play a attacking 433 formation with a high-line and offside trap..). Shola would be useless against 'Pool. Bring him on as a sub if needed.

My personal team for Blackpool @

    Harper(if fit)
    Simpson Willo Colo Enrique
    Barton Tiote Nolan/Ireland Guti
    Nolan/Ireland
    Loverman

Ireland did well I thought, just a shame that the two passes he was running onto from one-twos (one from Colo, forgot the other one) were over hit/
