I reckon this could well be one of the best seasons that the premier league has seen at the top and the bottom. I anticipate a great scrap at the bottom and there aren't any real clear contenders for the drop. At the top it will be interesting with all the signings by clubs. So who do you think will make the bottom 3 and the top 4? Top 4: 1st City 2nd United 3rd Chelsea 4th Arsenal Bottom 3: 18th WBA 19th Reading 20th Wigan
Very good shout, totally agree. Although I could see Spuds coming 4th instead of le Goons. In fact, I hope they do, may take some of those odious twats down a peg or two.
It's just my wishful thinking tbh, I think it'd be good to have Spuds in the CL, after years of goading from the gooners it'd be nice if us pair were in it and they weren't! Although tbh, I do want AVB to massively fail so **** it, Toon for fourth again
Good minds, DL, good minds. Would be very surprised if the top four differed from the OP's at all. A Norwich fan at work is very pessimistic about their chances but think they'll grind out 40 points. If Swansea get off to a poor start it'll be very tough to stay up playing five yard passes around the back four while 'pundits' spaff their pants over 'Swanselona'.
I see it as a win-win either way. I found it hilarious watching them both squealing on the last day and having sleepless nights I'm the build up to the CL semi and FA Cup. I thought Spurs needed taking down a peg or two after their bullishness December-February so I was happier to see them miss out. In 2006 it was a different story and I wanted Arsenal to leave as Henry would have been gone that summer with no ready replacement with Spurs probably getting knocked out to some also rans in the qualifier anyway Watford Hughton knows this league very well, I feel they will have enough. Laudrup has no experience at all and I think Swansea's style of play got found out towards the end of last season. Unlike Norwich I never fancy them in any away game so it's going to be an almighty task to replicate the home form of last year and beat City/Arsenal/Liverpool and hold Chelsea/Spurs whilst still doing well against the team around them. For the first time I also think Fulham could be in trouble as well and can't see them getting into the top half. They haven't rebuilt at all and I'm worried for them especially with the Dempsey news. The significance of losing Danny Murphy seems to have gone unnoticed and Dembele has had his head turned. BIG seasons for Bryan Ruiz and Brede Hangeland.
Still think they have enough to be comfortable. If a perennial mid-table team is going to be in trouble I think it'll be Stoke.
None of you going with the Pundits and sending us down? For the record until united got RVP I had you guys down as winners I think it will go united you city and arsenal but really the top 3 could be in any order. I reckon if you get yourself a big strong striker (like cavani) you'd win the league.
Know what you mean, it's like being asked to be shot in the front of the head or the back! Nah, I think your manager knows what he's doing and got a feeling you'll do what Swansea/Norwich did this season.
I'd agree and say that if you can get another striker, and your signings gel quickly and adapt then you have a shot at the title, your signings have been top class so far.
Got it in one Remember when we were criticised for backing him? Spuds doing exactly the same. Even he himself has admitted he was in the wrong when in charge of us.
I wouldn't listen to the Northern biased establishment mate. Even before Ramirez signed for you I had you down as nailed on to stay up
He doesn't need to fail for me to believe that but apart from the fact he's an arrogant prick who has done nothing but snipe at our club since joining you I also believe he's a fraud of a manager. When at Chelsea he was rightly criticised by the media and Chelsea fans for everything ranging from tactics, treatment of senior players, the fact he was inexperienced and unproven, relations with the press/other managers. When at Chelsea the media were baying for his blood like vultures to a carcass. Yet the moment he was sacked we were "wrong" to sack him, he is now this great up and coming manager who has proven his worth in Portugal and its apparently the fault of all the first team players at the club who were conspiring to get him sacked on Yacht meetings with Abramovich with Lampard being the mastermind behind it all. Most Chelsea fans realise he was at fault for MOST (not all) of our failings yet the media/rival fans seem sure it's the players, the same players who have led us to the most successful period in our history and even now produce the goods when need to. RDM got the spirit back and more importantly scrapped that stupid 4-3-3 formation with the high line. Had he not have done this I would have blamed the players but that isn't the case I think it's even worse than the appointment of Ramos. All of Jol's hard work has effectively been undone. They are starting from scratch now like we had to and a clueless 34 year old who has barely hit puberty is leading the reigns. They needed to build on what they had done. Had they done that it would not have been inconceivable they could challenge for the top 4 or even top 3. Right now it's a struggle for top 6 IMO
Yes I see them struggling too, they have no natural goalscorer and aren't particularly great in any particular position
