Aye, I can see your point about the injuries, but he still made a contribution every year, and has around 20 odd goals plus assists on average for the last six years, so it's hardly like he was a complete passenger a la Hargreaves.

Not so much the loyalty thing, more the fact that:

    1. He forced the move on the last day of the window, thus arguably leaving Liverpool a player short and contributing to them signing Carroll (<laugh>)
    2. I distinctly remember him making comments along the lines of 'now I've joined a top level club' or similar, which was an unnecessary insult to Liverpool imo.

Personally, I'd say a player has no real duty of loyalty to a club other than to treat them with respect, and make their intentions clear in plenty of time to help the club plan for the future. Torres arguably failed to do either when he moved, which is why I can understand the anger Liverpool fans have. But then he is by no means the worst culprit for doing that.

Yeah, that came out slightly wrong, I know VP is a quality player but I was just saying that Arsenal showed tremendous loyalty to him too.

Didn't Torres also say there were things going on behind the scenes at L'pool that the supporters didn't know about, which was a massive factor in him leaving? He's won the Champs League and FA Cup, more than he ever did at Liverpool, in 18 months. I know it hasn't gone planned for him personally but that was the reason for him leaving. Cash obviously had a factor too, but it does with every move. I feel the same way about the Nasri deal btw, not just being biased. I think both Torres and Nasri had digs back at their fans for their own unnecessary comments!

When Rafa went Torres was always going and they were indeed changing everything but don't deny me my spite for losing a player I admired <ok>

Isn't that always the reason we act like jilted lovers when they go <laugh> I couldn't give a fk what he said after going or what he did to be totally honest, he left for a rival, that's all I need to turn all megabitchy <ok>
