I was listening to a couple of the arseholes on talk5HITE the other day, and they were discussing the relative strengths of Oscar and Neymar, based on Brazil's dismal performance in the Olympic final against Mexico. They were trying to fathom which was the better player, and whether or not Oscar would be a good signing for the Chavs. They completely forgot to mention Sandro or his connection with Spurs; it was like he didn't exist. From what I saw, Sandro was at least as good as Neymar, and he was better than Oscar. I wish someone would pull the plug on talk5HITE.
To be fair to Talksport, I thought that Sandro and Romulo made each other fairly redundant. One of them needed to make way for a more creative player and when it finally did happen, I thought that the wrong one left the pitch. Mexico started to get into the game after our all dancing, all singing, MMA fighter was withdrawn and they scored their second about 4 minutes later. Another case of a team with two holding midfielders and no natural playmaker being undone by a counter-attacking display. Seems quite common, doesn't it?
Sandro made Oscar and Neymar look good. Oscar is now hoping Jon Mikel Obi Jon Obi Mikel Jon makes him look like a footballer...
Agreed. I've thought for some time that he had a great future. We've only really seen him in the defensive role, with Spurs. I think he will develop into one of the best box to box midfield players there is. He has the attacking instincts, the athleticism, and the skill. He just needs to be more aware at times. A future great, if he keeps learning and improving the way he has been.
