I guess you found the Evra footage where he screeches '******' funny didn't you? then when the term is used in his direction, Oh no you can't use the 'N' word. I know there's a thread for what I am about to say but, you guys constantly show what hypocrites you are sometimes. However, I realise now my comments are wasted on you because you lack the ability to comprehend a reasonable debate

Suarez and Terry said what they said in anger, whether that was anger at the individual or anger at something else they said what they said in anger. Yes had they said it in a calm manner then they would of been able to argue why they were not being offensive but they called a black man black in anger, regardless of the language used to say it they called a black man black and did so in anger. I believe Terry was wrongfully let off ( and the court knew it ) and Suarez could easily of been found guilty but the chances are the same that happened in the Terry case would happen again.

Rio laughed at a tweet that contained an apparently racist phrase. It wouldnt even get jotted down in a police officers little black book <ok> Its not an offence in anyway to laugh at a joke.

No matter how you look at it there's a huge difference

I thknk you'll find that it would be noted, and trust me I am an ex officer so I can confirm from experience!. I think what we have is a case of, Rio belongs to us and you can't say or do anything to him, pretty sad really given the fact that he is in fact a racist!

If Ferdinand had been charged with disrepute i could understand you seeing the outcome as fair, but he was facing the same charge as Suarez.

It's not down to the FA to decide if the severity of Rio's offence was higher or lower than Suarez's, plain and simply he was found guilty of a charge where context isn't taken into consideration(their own rule)and therefore should have faced the same punishment.

The FA found a sacrificial lamb to slaughter in Suarez and kept Blatter and FIFA happy, only thing is it's stigmatised Suarez forever.

Either the FA change the rule to accomodate different levels and variations of offence or they pass on the responsibility to the police, as you pointed out the Suarez case would have been thrown out of court add to that Rio's case wouldn't have got that far.

The only reason the Terry case went to court was because of a complaint from a member of the public and the reverse happened to Suarez because of no complaint, the same crowd that lynched Suarez(including Suarez's union boss Gordon Taylor)have been silent on the fallout from Anton/Terry/Rio and should hang their heads in shame.

I called Terry a racist but I honestly believe he is. I said Suarez was an idiot and I also said at the time of Rio's tweet that he was an idiot. I dont accept he did anything overly wrong but understand he didnt help matters or himself and should of kept hush.

Suarez got riled up, probably because of evra being a horrid **** ( we United fans know hes a ****, like alot of our players ) but he reacted badly and got punished. Was it harsh? Maybe but Rio got 8 months for missing a drug test and those that fail them get less......we know about the unfair workings of the FA more than most tbh.

The whole issue is mad. Suarez has served his punishment and whether we thing is was right or wrong the fact is he was punished. He now needs to move on and make people forget it every happened. A great season without any troubles will go a long way to help it. People do forget, people wont hold it against him for long unless he keeps allowing it to be brought up.

Rio should of kept his mouth shut because lets be honest, people were waiting for him to slip up and he delivered. Wouldnt of mattered the term used and whether it was offensive or not, they just needed him to say something and boom, improper conduct charge. The fact he used a racist term ( I honestly have never ever heard of it as a racist term ) just made every journo go mad to make the story far bigger than it was.

    **** john terry!

I dont think Suarez is a racist, hes a horrible bucktoothed ****er though, I stand by that <laugh>

Sometimes my views on the case and the wider worlds get confused, possibly because of me but sometimes people misread and jump the gun.

Dont get me started on PC rubbish, its one of the worst things about modern society. Its like religion, telling you how to live your life and whats right and wrong in the eyes of a detached leadership and elite most of whom have never ever spent any time in a deprived society.

Anyway its 21:16 on a friday night and thats my last comment on the matter <ok>

Oh............one more time........**** john terry <ok>

Against this line of argument I'll challenge it with this comparison. If one guy staples a "Fergie is a N*gger Lover" poster to every lamppost in my street. I then take one down, pin it to my front door and handwrite "nice one" on it am I doing a lesser evil than the guy who made the poster?

I may not get arrested (I know the police questioned the tweeter, don't know if he was charged?) but am I going to be seen as promoting a racist and therefore guilty by association?

Oh & none of the FA presented evidence proved it and in fact Suarez denied using the phrase in anger so in a court where believing a "little bit" isn't good enough you had absolutely no chance of a conviction.

In Terry's case while the judge might have "known" it he rightly applied that little thing that protects everyone one of us from "we all know he's guilty so he is" mob rule; it's called reasonable doubt.

All 3 cases have clear reasonable doubt be it contextual or lack of evidence of intent. You still seem to be applying different standards to each case when discussing them.

It's a all or nothing kind of thing if you want to be taken seriously.

I'll keep typing the word: consistency.

So like most things, when you are challenged, you fail to deliver.

    Haha not at all Terrif,

I stated the reason already but I didnt make it obvious. The Guardian has a left wing agenda and I find it as tedious as the Daily Mail and its right wing agenda. Neither like all newspapers have the interests of the general public in mind but rather their own political agendas in almost every word published.

Not that I am trying to second guess which way you lean <ok>

Probably going a little away from the point here but something that throws a spanner in the works a little is if the term choc ice is racist due to it meaning their is a way of being black and a way of being white, at least amongst other reasons then wouldnt the jokes of some black comedians about how black people do it like this and white people do it like that also be racist and damaging to black people the world over?

Obviously they were jokes but wasnt the tweet at least deemed by Rio as a joke hence the manner of his reply?

Now I know someone will say they are different and whatever but I dont see how they are. Both are implying that there is a way of being black and a way of being white. Perhaps the fact the comedians were generalising whole races made it more acceptable?

Seriously though, I need to be offended more, I am lacking behind the rest of society it seems <laugh>

JT & LS were charged with "using abusive and/or insulting words and or behaviour towards AF & PE, contrary to FA rules. Including a reference to ethnic origin and/or race of AF & PE".

Rio Ferdinand has been charged with "The allegation is that the player acted in a way which was improper and/or bought the game into disrepute by making comments which included a reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race."

    Were these the charges?

If so thats why Rio got a fine and Suarez a ban. Terry will also get a ban should the FA be consistent.

To emphasise the point, footballers have previously been fined for making homophobic remarks on twitter. So they have set a precedent for offensive comments on twitter it seems.

Funny when they all jumped on Reina's back and tried to paint him a racist for this advert.

Cant remember Rio calling the black actors choc-ices.

Cant speak for the original tweeter but going off Rios reaction I think it was a joke. Ashley coles reaction implied the same.

So......... whats the difference, except the comedians are generalising a whole race and the tweeter aimed his at an individual. Is it better to generalise the whole race or something?

"and Suarez could easily of been found guilty but the chances are the same that happened in the Terry case would happen again."

NEVER!!! Absolutely, totally, utterly - NEVER!!! I Screamed at the telly when that self-promoting ****er Blissett called for Suarez to be prosecuted in a criminal court - GO ON THEN!

UIR, are you really so thick, even without the Terry verdict, that you think, with reasonable doubt and the presumption of innocence to the accused (both denied to Suarez in the FA witchtrial) that there is one zillionth of a chance that Suarez would have been convicted for INTENT on the one charge he admitted to, let alone the additional six that the FA plucked out of the air? Do you really not think our right-on, politically correct CPS and Director of Public Prosecutions would not have LOVED to have put Suarez on trial and squeeze every last drop of kudos from it? They probably had Doreen lawrence booked to turn up in the public gallery, along with The Sunday Supplement team, Jon Snow and Gordon Taylor.

Christ how we wish they'd tried...:emoticon-0101-sadsm

So you are making the rather childlike assumption that because I read some guardian articles that this is the reason I would like to see anti discrimination legislation/ agenda applied equally to all?
