Just comparing VDV & Dempsey. Dempsey has scored 86 goals in 306 apps VDV has 150 goals in 414 apps VDV has reached double figures 7 times in his career. Dempsey has reached double figures three times. Both are players that will get you goals and in certain seasons would excel but neither are capable of playing as a lone striker.
oh, i know mate, but surely not? that pretty much goes against everything levy thinks. he wants players at the right price, a good age with sell on value, and also likes to uncover gems. - Dempsey goes against all that! would just be hysterical if we ended up going for him. it would just sum our our stance over transfers. - And for the first time, levy would have had a summer where his negotiation game hasn't worked, and actually backfired.
I'm still hoping we land Dempsey. I think they want around £10m or £5m plus Adam. I'm hoping the latter because I'd most certainly rather we get rid of Adam and save ourselves £5m
He be good for you team especially as rodgers plays this "tika taka" style, would allow Dempsey to work his way into attacking positions and you need goals from midfield, especially with Gerrard on the decline, kuyt has gone and downing is hardly a reliable source of goals.
Won't be getting rid of Jenas in the near future, he has just tweeted a picture of Steven Caulkers haircut from onboard the Spurs coach travelling up to Newcastle.
I agree, Gerrard can still score goals but will be used more in the bigger type games and rested more in other games. Hope Adam goes, he's a liability with his tackling and can't shoot for toffee
