I've maxed out the amount of characters I'm allowed to use so I'll leave the analysis, e.g. how our wingers might cope with playing more narrow, to you fellas. So far we've heard how much the R's are going to beat us by...but can any of you Super Hoops explain exactly how Mark Hughes will set about achieving this glorious victory?
Don't think you can put up threads on more than one board any more Terror. Not sure why they got rid of this facility.
Joking aside, I do genuinely think we have a good chance in this one, 8-0 obviously being slightly too much to hope for. Not only do we have a good record against Swansea, we have improved out squad more than most over the summer and we now have a lot of pace going forward, with Hoilett, SWP and Cisse our fastest options. (SWP has had a great pre-season and whilst he was rubbish last year, he is a confidence player, and can see him doing well this year with a good pre-season and a manager who believes in him.) That, combined with the creative threat of Taarabt, alongside the industry of Park and Diakete in the middle of the pitch, and I think you can start to see how we might play! I suspect that if things aren't going our way, MH will bring on Bobby Zamora to work as the target man - a role he is brilliant at. We have far more options this year, and will be able to keep teams guessing more often. Taarabt is the key man for this one. He is confident and has a good history against the Swans. I will be interested to see how Swansea do this year, you've lost Rogers, Caulker, Allen and Sig, but signed ML, Flores, de Guzman and Michu as I understand it. I genuinely think that these players can improve Swansea, but in time. As we at QPR know well, good players can take a while to gel! All the best after Saturday, how are you guys going to line up tactically? What's this business about wingers not being wingers? Care to explain?
The big man explains himself here; http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/S...ak-role-wide/story-16711433-detail/story.html For those who can't be arsed. Our wingers used to stay as wide as possible, with and without the ball, to create more space inside for our midfield. This was quite frustrating sometimes. E.g. A promising attacking situation is developing, everyone can see the run Sinclair should make between the full-back and the centre-half to be put through on goal....but he would continue to hug the touch line due to strict management instructions. Making the run involves more risk if we lose the ball. This year Laudrup says they will be asked to start in a more narrow formation and encouraged to cut inside and make runs to join the striker in the right situations. If anyone can teach our wingers to be more effective surely it's Laudrup. Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to 'get' it.
Interesting indeed and a big change for them! To be honest, the ML tactic sounds more threatening if you ask me. Please go back to the original. Thanks.
How many are you going to bring to our place? It appears you have tickets remaining. Was hoping for a full house and cracking atmosphere. Just hope you dont leave a load of empty seats that could have been sold to Rangers. Here's to a great game!
law of averages and all that says we are going to win 2-1...the sunday papers thinks we are going to win also....
Well said, Dai, by the law of averages we can't keep losing the opening game of the season for ever more
We've won our last 5 at home on the bounce! One of those was against yourselves. I'd be very suprised if we lost
like i say law of average...you cant win your first game every time the same as we cant lose our first game every time. the cycle has got to change sometime.....maybe this season we will win our first game. we are good enough...
According to this weather app on my iPhone it says it's going to be roasting in Shepherd's Bush Saturday, 31 degrees by all accounts so if that's right they'll all be knackered after 20 minutes and we'll end up having a 0-0. One thing I will go out on a limb on is that I think both clubs will be more than comfortable this season.
Apparently we're as good as down...again; http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/B...son-struggle/story-16725575-detail/story.html Neil Taylor on Saturday; http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Taylor-ve-got-score-settle-QPR/story-16726826-detail/story.html For those who wonder whether Sinclair will play a part; http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/S...Swansea-City/story-16721539-detail/story.html
by the way if you read the comments it is not me but another Daiswan, i would have had 99 added with mine...
Mmm! Not sure where you're getting all this from tbh. Taarabt, Hoilett, Park and Cisse are hardly bar-room bullies. We're much more likely to out-play you than kick you off the pitch. Although I fear it will be a very tight game and with the hot weather forecast it could well end up a draw!
