Following on from last season I've detailed below the first 9 league games of the season. This takes us up to the end of October.
I think these 9 games are really important and will shape the rest of the season, IMO. We play Man U and City and all 3 promoted side.
Will we get the wins we need? What are your thoughts, I think Big Mart has done a great job so far and I hope this continues.
Just cut and paste with your predictions for score and points total or just a total if you prefer.

    Fulham - Norwich 2-0
    Man U - Fulham 3-1
    West Ham - Fulham 1-1
    Fulham - West Brom 2-0
    Wigan - Fulham 0-0
    Fulham - Man City 1-2
    Southampton - Fulham 1-2
    Fulham - Aston Villa 2-0
    Reading - Fulham 1-1
    Total points 15

I think we could get a result at Old Trafford as it's s early in the season but I have gone for a loss.

15pts sounds about right, Craving, but I'll go for 16.

Three home wins, plus losing to City; two away wins, with one draw, one defeat to a team of similar stature to ourselves and a defeat at Old Trafford. As to which away banana skins we'll slip on, it could be any of them! I just hope we win at Southampton as I'm planning on going and know a lot of Saints fans.

And who's to say we won't give one of the big boys a bit of a shock? We've done it before.

I agree with your points tally and also your point about meeting United early. They aren't the best of starters.

I see Lawro thinks we may struggle this season but QPR will be fine. What is it about us that makes all the journo's go "ah! that's them looking dodgy this year" regardless how solid we have been in recent years.

You're right about journalists picking random teams that look dodgy this season. I actually think this year particularly they are struggling to find teams beyond the promoted 3 who look weak and likely to go down. Most pundits/journos are picking Southampton, Reading and 1 other for the drop. These are typically teams like Wigan and Norwich but based on last seasons form (particularly at the end for wigan) it would take a brave person to bet on them going down. Even Savage I think it is has backed Villa to go down which seems mad to me! I think Norwich, Swansea and West Brom are unknown quantities as they have all lost outstanding managers, but that said some of their replacements could prove very shrewd appointments so would be premature to back them for the drop.

This year it's the uncertainty over Dempsey and Dembele, plus having not kept any of last season's senior strikers. I think the pundits tipping our demise are wrong, but I can see why they might settle on us as candidates for the annual 'established club who suddenly nosedive'. As for why this has happened every other season in living memory, I have no explanation!

Okay, we're 7 matches in and here's how we did so far. See below.
In summary, we're 1 point off my predicted total so far for 7 games. 2 wins from the next 3 games would see a total of 16 points.
This time last year we were on 7 points, this year 10 points.

    Fulham - Norwich 2-0 5-0
    Man U - Fulham 3-1 3-2
    West Ham - Fulham 1-1 3-0
    Fulham - West Brom 2-0 3-0
    Wigan - Fulham 0-0 1-2
    Fulham - Man City 1-2 1-2
    Southampton - Fulham 1-2 2-2
    Fulham - Aston Villa 2-0
    Reading - Fulham 1-1
    Fulham - Everton 1-2
    Total points 15

Bleeding West Ham !! In fact all the predictions people made are working out pretty well and looking back at them suggests 4 pts from the next two games. Which just leaves Everton and anything taken from that game will now almost seem like a bonus.

What nobody predicted though was the number of goals we've been scoring, home and away. Excepting bleeding West Ham of course !!

    Well done the lads. COYW

Agreed, 4 points from the next 2 would be great. Everton are red hot at the moment so not holding my breath. We should be more competitive this year. I hope!
