French CB, 24 years of age, assume it'll be back up for Morrison and Cort with Taylor going or maybe Cort, Taylor and Dorian fighting it out (lets face it Morro is first choice).

Being given number 19 shirts mean Rommedahl won't be rejoining
1 year deal, apparently he played at Crawley,Bromley and Gillingham in pre season, anyone see him and what you think?

I was impressed with Dervite during his cameo against the Gills. Seemed very mobile and oddly seemed to like getting in front of strikers to head the ball back (rather than standing behind them and just tugging on their shirt like Taylor <laugh> ).

We were very lucky last season that none of Morro, Taylor or Cort suffered a prolonged injury, so I'm glad we've signed another CB. Not sure what it means for Mambo though.

Haven't been at the pre-season games so no idea if Dervitte is any good but its reassuring nevertheless that we have back up tp Morro/Cortaylor. Sadly don't think Mambo is up to it. With Wilson here (notwithstanding the reports of his ineptitude against Orient) we now have full back up in defence. We got lucky last year with injuries. Anyone remember the farce when Solly got injured, Wiggy was sent to RB and Evina summoned from the bar to play against Rochdael!!!! Let's hope Everton don't have to panic buy a left back at the end of the window!

So was I, WeWant - looked to have a lot of time, good jumper and played some adventurous (though not always accurate) through balls.

If Cort's hamstring is still dodgy, I'd back him to start over Taylor tomorrow.

What is this vogue for giving our players a second surname? First Bover and now Dervite. Do you think they will be twice as good? Wright-Phillips might be better than, but is not twice as good as, Haynes. Vennegoor of Hesselink only scored three times in a season for Hull and he was their main striker.

Keep it simple lads, and save bandwidth.

I see you are setting a good example Eddie - "eddiefirmani". Who needs two names when one will do! <ok>

My issue with this double-barrelled name is that it just isn't silly enough - Monty Python fans will know what I mean - if you're going to double up, at least make it a cracker...

My own personal favorites amongst multi-monickered footballers are José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan and Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu but Tranmere Rovers have got the domestic market well sewn up at the moment with Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro and Abdoulai Bell-Baggie.

That's gonna take some beating. <ok>

Things I learned from Wiki today...

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro has a brother who plays for Toulouse. His name is Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro.

Akpa Akpro is a great surname, mind. Might change mine to that.

Of course nobody knows if 'Ars Bandeet' really did exist as a footballer in the 1970's? BUT.... if he did :D

Because we had two Firmanis. One was one of the best centre-forwards in Europe for many years, the other was a utility player of very moderate abilities, third tier English standard.

Surely Djemba-Djemba is silly enough in its redundancy. Singing "He's so good they had to name him twice" is so much snappier than "He's so good they had to give him another surname to hyphenate to the first one".

Loved the bit in Meet The Parents when De Niro realises that the daughter who is about to marry a Focker has the middle name Martha.

A player called Moudou Sougou scored two for FC Cluj tonight - even though it's not double barrelled, I thought it earned an honorable mention. <ok>
