By Ibrox, I meant amongst the Rangers support and in bars, clubs etc. Simply untrue I don't care if you believe me or not. I am not a hard man, internet or otherwise but that is what happened.
By Ibrox you meant bars, clubs etc. Course you did. These are places I've already said I don't frequent
Then why wasn't your initial answer that you don't ever hear or see anyone behaving in any behaviour that is racist, bigoted or sectarian? It doesn't address the broader point that nobody seems to do anything much at all
Given that you don't go to Ibrox weekly and I doubt you regularly go to Rangers supporters bars/clubs then I'm not quite sure how you can come to that conclusion. As someone that attends Ibrox regularly I can say your opinion that nothing is being done is wrong and there is nothing I or anyone can do to change it. This never started out about sectarian/bigotry etc. It was about Leggo and laterally about McMurdo's paranoid delusions about a mass conspiracy against Rangers/Unionism etc. There is no problem with people voicing this opinion. It is not racist/sectarian/bigotry. It is an opinion that I happen to disagree with but people are entitled to it and who am I to moan/nag/engage/converse in order to change it. I've got better things to do with my time like argue with boring randoms on the internet
rebel on this one t has a point - not about you - i dont know you - but there is and has been still a (very small" minority in our (mainly away) support that still have such views example - away at tannadice last season - im in the stand and some boy has clearly decided he will sit where he likes - the police tell him to move and he is full of "orange bastards" etc. now i know the orange order isnt strictly speaking a religion but lets all be honest and admit by this he meant protestant i think the thing to remember however is RANGERS ARE MUCH MUCH WORSE THAN US
It is my opinion that it seems like nothing is being done. It appears as though nothing is being done. I have ears and I can hear that whatever is being done is done being done to any great effect. I have eyes and I can read that nobody appears to be addressing these things online. I ask you a straight question about this very topic and you tell me that you don't do anything.....So yeah, you can tell me that my opinion is wrong all day long. You can even pretend that I wouldn't change my mind even if you did. I asked you a question in response to this quote. For the unsavoury stuff I was speaking with reference to the very thinly veiled anti-Irish, anti Catholic rhetoric. If that is not what you meant, what did you mean? I was not looking to argue the point, I was asking a question. You could have answered it.
Right, let's have a little look into things... Catholic or Protestant, both forms of Christianity so those that believe in Christianity follow one of those unless they're Greek then they're 'Orthodox' (probably) so what's the problem? Religious belief is declining so will it really affect your life is someone doesn't follow your particular belief? No. Republican or Unionist... Does someone having a different political leaning affect your life that much that you have to shout others down all the time? Not really, keep it for the polling booth unless you're an active member of a political party then use it in the appropriate places. You're not going to change people's ideas by using physical or verbal abuse against them, it'll only reinforce their own views (right or wrong) I remember growing up in the 70's and hearing people say "There goes the neighbourhood" when blacks and Chinese moved in. Looking back they actually enriched the community for the most part. The thing that's really affected neighbourhood's recently is supermarkets but we're too busy buying the cheap ****e from them to do anything about it. (That was a bit random wasn't it?)
I think you are preaching to the converted on this topic, not many people on this particular thread really give a toss about religion one way or another, especially when it relates to football.
I dont consider myself to have a bigoted bone in my body, but people who use the word " random " superfuously and without context in a sentence should be deported back to where they came from.
It wasn't aimed at anyone posting on the thread, it was a comment on the hypocritical nut-job and his blog.
Guilty as charged (BUT mentioning supermarkets along with religion and politics can be considered to be random)
Fur **** sake!! The usual Leggo ****e and then a moment of complete clarity at the end when the man with the presbyterian granny concludes that Rangers fans are a bunch of easily-led hypocrites. Not news to the rest of us, but ****ing ground-breaking for that bawbag!
