signed for £1 million...a steal, Arsen said he only signed a new contract the other day but i had to let him go after a re think about his future, he needs first team football and Swansea are an ideal club for him.....danny and kyle have been tweeting one another tonight........good signing and getting better with every passing hour...

    What a signing!
Right position, right age, right size, good pedigree, British.
I don't think he's for the future I think he's for now....got good loan experience already behind him.
I think Monk and Tate will rarely make the bench from here on in and at last we have some real competition (not giving up on Situ either).
....and if it all goes pear shaped he still cost half of what we paid for Lita, very low risk.
Lauds is a cute cookie alright

With Sinclair looking like he's not going to be a Swansea player much longer- if Rangel goes as well, that would mean that half of our outfield first team from last season will have gone. ( Sigurdsson, Caulker, Allen, Sinclair, Rangel). Surely that only happens when teams are either relegated or in financial difficulty. Maybe we were just too impressive last season for our own good? Have any other Prem teams lost so many this season ?

Sig, Caulker , Allen , Sinclair & Rangel = Michu , Bartley , De Guzman , Hernandez & Chico .... I think we'll have done pretty well on the pitch & in the pocket book if these transfers all happen .

Why are you only buying players from the spanish league? They can be a bit hit and miss.

Bartley isn't from the Spanish league, but Laudrup has connections in La Liga and UK players are often way overpriced. See Allen.

I want to believe it but im not convinced - Allen is a big ask for anyone to replace, he was so essential to our style and identity (like Leon). the others yes are replaceable but what worries me more and particularly hearing the Rangel rumours is that we are losing long time servants of the club, this is not good for a club like ours which is holding its own due to a strong identity and team spirit.

Change can be good but not at the expense of continuity.

Hear ya !! . Rodgers brought in Sig , Caulker & Sinclair because of history with Brendan , for continuity ... Hopefully Laudrup's history with De Guzman , Chico , Michu & Hernandez will bring a new continuity at the expense of what most teams expect during the " Second Season Syndrome " ..... I live in hope , but with a confident excitement !!

I know its rumours but there seems to be some discontent amongst the players, training methods, lack of man management skills etc, maybe life after Brendan is tough after the way they were cossetted but its worrying me that established players are being linked with moves away. For example youd think that someone like Sinclair would jump at the opportunity to learn from one of the football legends but apparently not.

Good that these new players want to come and rejoin Laudrup though, must say something positive about the guy. Im excited about the new season too but more than a little worried about all the speculation over all the players coming and going - must be unsettling for everyone considering we are just about to start the season! Anyway give it at least half a dozen games and we ll see how its all panning out - interesting times ahead whatever!

Shades of the past here. I'm thinking back to the time when Tosh brought all the Liverpool guys in and there were two distinct factions in the dressing room, them and the local lads.

There was some tension and I know this to be a fact because I was quite close to the club in those days and knew a number of the players. It never got out of hand, though, but I wonder if we are heading for a similar situation with Brendan's boys and Laudrup's lads. I hope not because team spirit was a big factor in our success last season.

They are professionals and have to get on with it Ivor. If they don't they can go elsewhere.

I don't agree with exiled over the importance of Allen. Overpriced (not complaining about that) and completely replaceable.

all these players who are mentioned should give Swansea some well earned respect because if it was not for us they would be nothing and not on the money they get. ..Rangel was plucked from spain playing lower league football and going nowhere, ash plucked from non league, taylor plucked from non league, sinclair from chelsea's lower ranks who was sent packing by wigan for not making the grade , we gave him another chance to prove himself, joe Allen was took on as a 9 year old schoolboy and we made him a £15 million player, All these players and more owe swansea a great deal because without us they probably be playing lower league football...

We're also in for Alex Baptiste (Blackpool). He's a CM/FB which increases my concerns for the future of Rangel and Taylor.

I've heard that Sinclair is out in more ways than one. If he does go to City then great, we get some cash, but, if not a little bird tells me he'll be benched anyway, if he's lucky.

Allegedly, and I emphasise allegedly, either he, or his agent, went back on their word re signing a new contract. Allegedly he was due to sign yesterday but didn't show up for the meeting with HJ and ML. Instead HJ was sent a txt saying that he would not be signing. HJ and ML are apparently spewing about it. Only hearsay at this stage, which I'll update either way.

This is what I've heard but could be a load of crape. Does anyone else have anything on this?

Looking forward to tomorrow but I cant wait for this xfer period to end. I'd just want to settle back into talking football and not thinking about who's in and who's out all the time; its tiring me out.

There is no official announcement on the Swans' web site yet. I wonder what the hold up is.
