I thought Portsmouth were still in administration so how can they do this ? http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/162446-Players-being-signed
Good question Gat to which I have no idea what the answer is. We were not allowed to sign anyone. Yet, here we are one season on and Portsmouth apparently can. It would be interesting to see what rules are actually written down for these circumstances because from the outside it looks to me that there aren't any and they make up the rules as they go along. Is it a wonder that most people think the FA are a total bunch of wonkers.
Did we not sign players last closed season whilst still in administration? Been trying to block out the last 18 months or so but I thought we did. I thought you were allowed to sign players as temporary or non/contractual if they are free agents and loan signings as well. Anyways glad they are getting a few in as letting the youth team get a mauling ever week benifits nobody IMHO and from the highlights I watched their lads played well but we culd have hd a few more and they will be up against a lot better sides than Argyle week in week out and it could get very ugly.
Checked Mrs lalala....... You may be right mexijan although I can't remember us getting anyone. The Oracle that is plymborn will fill us in. I agree it serves no useful purpose but the rules should be the same for all. How can they pay new people if they couldn't pay the old ones. I don't want to see anyone in this position.
That was my thoughts Sensible if they are signing on McCloud, Clifford to name just two how on earth are they going to afford their wages when they are supposed to have no money or is it me just being dense ..... I know they are going for an entry in the history books ........... the first club to go into administration 3 times lol
My son told me that they were rumoured to be offering McLeod £4k per week. How true that is god only knows but no wonder he didn't want to play down here if it is. I just don't get all of this. We were blocked at every turn as far as I know and the word from the FA was "we are watching you closely". No such thing here then.
I've just read that the FL are going to delay giving them their -10 points ..... what the hell is going on .... why are they being treated differently to what we were ?????
http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Arg...mer-signings/story-13031679-detail/story.html July 2011 and we exited administration in Oct 2011 so not really seeing the difference in what is happening at Pompey now? Players they are signing are on monthly non-contractual terms. Fairer to all that they are competitive from the start and not easy pickings if you get to play them before the exit admin. Clifford Connor to go there on loan too is the rumour. The points thing is weird though why delay it until they exit admin? Hardly an incentive to sort the problems out.
I have been on the Pompey website....and the only answer I have been given so far is that they are on monthly contracts........so who is paying them wages ? Gat-Po.....they did have ten points deducted last season...which dropped them into a relegation spot.
Hiya Plym because they are starting the new season without a CVA ? being agreed they are having a further 10 points deducted ..... well supposedly they are lol
Being paid from cash through the turnstiles on match days....so I'm told.........did we get that option.....I don't think so.
We had no options or say in what we could do in admin, unlike pompey ex prem side so i suppose they got a bit more pull with the crooks on the FL/FA. Also we had a twat of an administator, but Gat liked him and the ginger one!!!
I THINK the reason Portsmouth got two points deductions is that they went into administration, came out & went back in again. If so, it seems perfectly correct they have been penalised again. As to the signing of players, again I THINK the difference may be who they owe money to. The League are keen to protect football creditors at the expense of others [which I think is completely wrong, I'm with HMRC on that one] and the breakdown of Portsmouth's debts relative to ours MAY have something to do with the League's attitude. Then again, it may be big club v little club.......
