But what if the Cisse that played against Sunderland plays for 80% if the season. He was anonymous and hardly had a kick against us. If he gets "found out" then he might not get 10 goals. (doubt it very much but it is a possibility after watching him play against us)

I don't see any side breaking into this top 4 made up of the two Manchester sides, Chelsea and Arsenal.

After that it's up for grabs for 5th-8th between 4-5 sides.

Then the rest, us included taking up the 9th-20th positions.

far to hard to predict at the minute as its going to be a very busy last 14-15days of the transfer window.

We need 5 or 6 still to come in (LB, CM, W, W, CF, CF) if we get them then we can have a really good season IMO

I personally think its going to be the best premier league season since the premier league started and I think there will be like every season 4 or 5min leagues within the main league.

    IMO

Group 1 - Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea

    Group 2 - Arsenal, Tottenham

Group 3 - Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton

Group 4 - Fulham, Sunderland, QPR, West Ham, Aston Villa, Swansea, Wigan

Group 5 - Stoke, Norwich, Southampton, WBA, Reading

by luck, do you mean like the beach ball, genuine luck, or do you just mean we were lucky to score some goals and win some games, we were lucky we won away from home etc, i.e. the normal nonsense that is written off as luck :)

I agree it will be twice as difficult given the appalling schedule UEFA produce for there secondary competition (if you don't win it then it's almost pointless being in it due to no massive financial gain), but if it was achieved at what point would it stop being "luck" and become astute management of the squad/players by Pardew, Carver etc...

<ok> Completely agree, with one, maybe two teams in each group possibly jumping up a group or moving down a group (which is just another way of saying I have no idea where anyone is going to finish )! Anyhow, either way Saturday can't come soon enough for me!!

A shot cleared off the line. A goal kick given when it was a corner. A free kick taken from 9 instead of 10 yards. A corner from outside the quadrant.... a penalty for a dive.... a hard man midfielder flattened by a tap on his chest.

    All definitions of good luck.

    Dont you think?

Disagree completely, a shot cleared off the line is good defending, not luck!

For me luck is defined by scoring a goal that crossed the line but didn't get given, or scoring a goal that is two yards offside but still gets awarded. Luck is something that isn't in your control, the examples given by you (other than a goal kick given when it was a corner) are just different variables of a football match IMO.

    - a shot cleared off the line, good defending, not luck ! its usually the result of fast reactions and good positioning, i.e. a good defender, plus arguably a less than top notch striker who might have placed the ball better

free kicks and goal kicks are small advantages from refereeing decisions, they don't have a huge impact over the course of a whole season and they tend to balance out over sporting formats with many clashes (world championship snooker being another good example)

a free kick for going to ground after a lesser player gets in a flap and lashes out because he was out played - see above, its not lucky to have good players that frustrate the opposition

i give you the penalty one, but again, these things even out.

In which way is that relevant to the OP?

And I think you'll find you should address the great man as Sir Bobby...

Yes he was sacked, not sure what you're getting at though??? Just because he was sacked doesn't mean we don't worship the man! It was a decision that 99.9% of the fans were very much against. <ok>

Good luck is what we sunderland fans wish each other on these forums.

Bad luck is finding bell ends like you instead of them.

Erm that's just simply a lie to cover the embarrassment you all now feel about his sacking.

At the time, the radio stations and newspapers were absolutely full of mags telling anyone who would actually listen that he was too old, past it and tactically old school. It was fan pressure that made fat Freddie act to sack him.

I'm afraid the re-writing of history may fool all of you internally but everyone else knows your fans drove the bloke out. Even Mary Poppins undermine the bloke from within and now tries to make on he did nowt but worship the bloke.

    Hypocritical to say the least.

Majority of the interviews given to the media by fans (especially SSN) are given during the the day (when all the sober fans are at work). Huge majority of toon supporters I know wanted him to stay on.
