Just had a look on the Arsenal board and their fans are in meltdown about RVP going to Man Utd, do you think this is the way the Celtic fans felt when Mo Johnston signed for Rangers? I know Spurs are Arsenal's big derby rivals but Man Utd have been their biggest tormentors for the last 25 years.
ok so a shrug of the shoulders and a 'so what' was the average Celtic fans reaction to Mo Johnston signing for Rangers
Not quite the same thing because of the intense rivalry between the Old Firm. In the past 25 years Arsenal have been up against Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea not just the one club although the Fergie/Wenger thing added fuel to it. There was also the fact that Celtic fans thought he was rejoining their club he had been wheeled out in a Celtic jersey before the cup final. To be fair ST has a point in that Mojo had both sets of fans in meltdown at the time. Unfortunately no other teams in the world seem to plumb the hateful depths of the supporters of the Glasgow clubs. Man Utd and Arsenal are just amateurs. It was only after Mo scored for us in the derby game that one side of Glasgow finally accepted him. Mind you there was a supporters club in Larkhall that set up their own league table in the pub that disregarded the goals that Johnston scored for us I mean how can the English fans compete with madness like that?
As Moses alluded to, Mo Johnston (La Merde) is a different case from RVP entirely. Unless Arsenal paraded him in their new strip after he had agreed to re-sign.
I pretended that he did sign for us and wouldn't listen to anyone that told me he hadn't. Even though it was blatantly obvious that he hadn't.
MoJo was a legend at Celtic and Rangers and he crossed the divide to try and bring peace and harmony to the warring huns and fenians bigoted dinosaurs. True to form though neither set of neanderthal factions couldn't hack it.
