Watching SSN and Pards says we 'might need another player yet'..
Thinking Spuds are selling Modric and need a CM... Probably putting two and two and getting 5 but..... Why use the word might?.... Sounds like an event may trigger the need...

 

Not sure why anyone would leave us for Spurs anyway but na stop being paranoid.

My side interest is behavioural science and his eye contact and body language looked to be hiding something.

 

The sun might collapse in on itself and focus all energy in an intense destructive, but very narrow, beam of power onto Tiote's forehead (strongest known physical substance), which would naturally deflect the blow upon one of his training mates... We might need to replace them. At least we have the floodlights, some of the non-league teams are ****ed...

Or, it could simply mean that some of our players are currently not in working order, and a cheap replacement for the meanwhile or season may be necessary... Or that he may feel the need to dip his toe in the murky transfer waters if the right deal presents itself... Of course, the latter suggestions are purely meaningless conjecture-isms designed to make you feel better and we should all try to be as far away from Tiote's forehead as possible... And invest in energy efficient bulbs and little lanterns to light the path from front gate to garden

 

nah cant see either cabaye or tiote leaving now.

spurs aren't in the champions league and don't pay huge wages. why leave for them now? seems like a sideways step.

He could of been on about Simpson being moved on or not on about losing players at all and just being cryptic on what he has planned.

 

Tiote to Arsenal and Cabaye to Spurs makes sense from a journalistic point of view - both fit with the style of the respective clubs and both could be signed from what the media would consider a 'smaller' club. Tiote has said again and again that he doesn't want to live in London, however I do think Cabaye will be on his way if he has another top season, but it will be someone REALLY big.

Spurs can probably offer him more wages and due to their recent success, they're probably considered the more likely to break into the top 4. Having said that, I'd be dissapointed in Cabaye if he left for them - Manure yes, Spurs no!

As for the 'might' - if we REALLY over analyse it, you could say its clever semantics...If he said "We need another player" - that implies its a necessity, and if don't bring one in, the window is a failure. If he says "We want another player" - and we don't get one, it implies we can't get our targets and this window is a failure. By saying "we MIGHT need one" suggests that if we get one, we wanted him all along, and if we don't, we didn't really need him anyway!

Reckon Anita's best position is DM, so if it was any, I would go with Tiote.

I also base on this on the selling signals it seemed were coming out of Newcastle about Tiote, from Llambias about May time.

 

To be fair it's probably a case of we need another player because of the size of our squad.

 

It crossed my mind as well ACS, nature of the beast these days. I felt a bit better when I thought about spurs usual state of affairs

 

He didn't say we need another player because he doesn't want to say that and then not have one arrive.

He said we might need one as a compromise between saying that no one esle is needed (I'm sure he's needling Llambias and doesn't want to let up any pressure he can bring) and making himself/MA look bad by saying we need someone and then not gettting them.

 

There are a couple of things it could relate to for me. Simpson leaving may or may not make him think about getting a left back or Debuchy in. Although not a desperate situation Pardew made it quite clear last year that he wants another centre back. Maybe young Good and Streete have been impressing enough to make him think its not so pressing. I don't think we'll see any departures now bar maybe Simpson. Obviously if someone chucks a silly bid then it is different.

 

I thought the same thing and I will be very surprised if we don't sell at least one of our best players but if we do hopefully we have a plan.
