What if it's not reported and they want an abortion after they miss their first (or possibly 2nd) period? What if the father disputes the rape claim or there's more than one possible father? Doesn't seem workable to me and you might get false rape reports by women desperate for abortions.
Human babies being born at 9 months are actually extremely underdeveloped compared to almost all other mammals - our heads get so big that the mother has to deliver an underdeveloped baby or risk dying during the birth. The big heads with big brains ended up being such an advantage to us that 'survival of the fittest' forgave us the horrendously difficult act of getting here in the first place. So a newly delivered human baby could really be considered as still being a fetus in mammalian terms - my point being that despite making a difference between the two terminologies there is not always actually that much of a difference between the two in development terms. My oldest son was delivered at 32 weeks, which is 8 weeks off the abortion limit age. 8 weeks seems an awfully short period between being written off as "not babies" and becoming MalteseMick Jnr.
So does 16 weeks. 24 weeks does seem pretty late to me, but I'm far from an expert on the subject. Is this a typical number or is the UK pretty lenient?
Your views aren't idiotic, they're just warped from personal experience so not objective. You use the 'career' example, which is far from one of the most common reasons for abortions, as women who care about their careers are generally well educated and careful when it comes to contraception/etc...But the point is that they feel that their life isn't right for them to bring a child into the world, so why do it? Why force a child to grow up in a situation that isn't ideal for them, at the same time causing issues with the mother's life (because she's not ready for it). My views on abortion are simple: - It's the mother's decision as she is the one carrying the baby. - If the child isn't going to be born into a family that's ready and willing to accept it then there's no point. - If there were more abortions then the Jeremy Kyle show wouldn't exist. - A child is born as a squishy lump of organs, and is basically as intelligent if not less than any mammal. - Sanctity of life is a heap of ****e that's been pushed on us for waaaaaay too long. You can argue that contraception should have been used, etc... but it's going to be the child that suffers if it's not born in the right circumstances. Having children should be a privilege, not some obligation because you had a pissed up shag one night and didn't wear a condom. I see that you're up for kids being aborted if it's rape/incest, and why's that? The mother's wellbeing? State of mind? It's no different to the pissed up shag situation, a child is still being 'murdered', even though it only has basic motor skills and no memory/ability to think. A woman having her period is technically a child not being born, aborting a foetus is just a late period.
Got this far - 'Your views aren't idiotic, they're just warped from personal experience so not objective.' Kill yourself or stay away from my threads you imbecile
You're too thick to ever debate with anyone, I've never seen you post anything that's longer than 3 lines (apart from quotes or maybe some tedious pish about Ireland). Put me on ignore if you ****ing have to, but you're the one ruining threads by having constant feeble digs at me, you sad lonely ****
I told you yesterday not to engage me yet you have been all over my thread/posts today. Stop embarrassing yourself fs
A period is an unfertilised egg, so not the same. That's like saying that stamping on a supermarket egg is just as cruel as plucking one from a bird's nest and stamping on it, killing the chick growing inside.
