The free 'Shortlist' magazine asked for predictions on who would be relegated:

The journalist, Jim White, The Daily Telegraph: Norwich, Swansea, Reading

The Ex-Pro, Graham Souness, Sky Sports Pundit: Southampton, Reading, QPR

The Intellectual. Simon Kuper, Financial Times Columnist And Author: QPR, Wigan, Norwich

I am a realist and fancy us to possibly be able to get even 10th, just can't see us getting relegated. I wonder why two of these so called experts think we will be relegated?

I expected to see Ian Wright's name but no, it's sour-faced Souness and some banker.

It's good, the more "experts" that tip us down the better. Can only help keep us sharp and wanting to prove them wrong.

I wouldn't pay any attention to ''pundits'' predictions. They are after all the same people who said Liverpool would be challenging for the title last year, that Wigan would be lucky to still be up by xmas, and we would be lucky to get any points from our last 10 games

Phil Thompson also has us going down, and Charlie Nicholas thinks we're going to be the surprise package and do really well. That's pundits and experts for you I suppose. They can say all this now because it'll be forgotten by next may...

Anyway, it's great they all have different opinions otherwise it would be boring, and what we have to remember is 1. It's nothing personal and, 2. No one really knows what's going to happen, that's the joy of it all

Exactly. I love it when pundits and other fans rubbish us and talk us down. In fact, I think its a good thing when we ourselves talk us down because it keeps the pressure off the team and if/when we do well, we can reap the plaudits.

Oh dear. Didn't exactly do much. He can say that he wasn't supported by the clubs. Just no good. (Apart from in the Sweaty's league .. and that means nothing.)

The scousers havent forgiven us for last season. It will be interesting to see who Kuper supports.

There's no pundit across all the channels that I have more contempt for than Phil-Hooter-Thompson.

I've lost count the amount of times he predicted Liverpool would win the League in the last 10-20 years. Such obvious (not to mention stupid) bias should be a sackable offence for any broadcaster that takes its pundits expertise seriously.

The best and fairest prediction is the bookies odds at this stage in my opinion.
They have to put their money where their mouths are.

..... Paddy power have seven in front of us for relegation putting us at around 13th.
    Seems about right to me.

Those guys are required to have an opinion, so they have to think of something! Might as well pick out of a hat.

They can't turn around to the magazine and say "hmm... I'm not sure, really." That'd make them look like they don't know what they're talking about (!) and they'd be out of a job.
