danilo... for what i saw downing stuck wide and borini did similar though not as much... gomel pushed full backs too wide and suarez had a field day. better sides will elt us stay wide but keep full backs in so suarez will be out manned.

I can see dempsey doing it but i cannot see him ever getting 20 goals again with us or fulham so i'm really unsure as to how he is rodgers guy.... sahin i can see but dempsey is just suprising.

." Some people call it ''commercial whoring''. I personally prefer this method to having a ''sugar daddy'' as it means that the revenue collected has been earnt. "

That's a bit like a brass saying she's better than Paris Hilton because she 'earns' her money. Yeah, that's true, really. :emoticon-0104-surpr

Every signing is one with risks I guess but you can bet your bottom dollar if we sign him BR will have also taken into account other things such as temperament, work rate etc. Dempsey will tick plenty of the "character" boxes as well.

Again I accept fully what you say about big club vs little club etc and in general that is obviously the case. Often though when signing from bigger clubs you are getting the players who they DON'T want. When signing from mid level clubs you are getting their best players. Take a pick of Gary Mac or Nicky Butt and you'll know where I'm coming from.

Basically I think the golden rule on this is that there is no golden rule <ok> its just about the player.

I do agree as well that undoubtedly Fulham played around Dempsey more than we ever would and thus his contribution goals wise wouldn't be as dramatic. I would say however that if Suarez would get us 4 to 5 a game playing that way...why the hell don't we just do that <ok> <laugh>

Finally...we all want us buying good rather than decent...but if we can buy good for first team and decent for the bench then we are at least moving in the right direction.

Is the Morocccan winger we've just signed one of those two signings. It seems that they are just out of the blue and unexpected.

    You may be right <ok>

However lets start with the first team.... that's after all who needs to perform week in week out. The bench is all well and good but I think we're adequate in that department, it's not a massive improvement. This new winger of ours is a complete surprise, I'm assuming he could be a good signing, I know he played well at Heerenven. He'll probably take over Downings role on the wing if Downing starts repeating last season.

And you're right about the big/small club thing. Though often buying from big clubs doesn't mean the player is ****e. Inter for example wanted nothing to do with Balotelli anymore and look at him. Assisted a PL winning goal in the 94th. That's what we need right now, first team improvements.

And as for the "don't worry about it, that's BR job, stop whining", kph.... that doesn't mean the manager is immune to critiscism. They can make poor choices as well. Just look at Hodgson and Konchesky - I'm sure Hodgson knew everything about him and how he would play for us, but that was obviously a poor choice from the outset. Dempsey can't be nearly as bad, but we can certainly question things. It's healthy for the club to have people scrutinizing your moves <ok> That being said I do have faith and I'll wait to see how the season plays out before giving any REAL critiscism.

Not sure i agree, started at first not liking CD but the more I think about it, the more I look at where I think we are, which I believe is currently in and around the Europa spots, the more I think he may help, Americans have a winning mentality and I reckon that CD might just up his game when he starts training with the guys at melwood.

He been a good servant for Fulham and Fulham are no mugs.

  9. I'd say so but then, was we ever interested? The media didn't have a bloody clue about Oussama Assaudi...<ok>

(that's going to take some memorising!)

Apparently dempsey has been left out of squad for tomorrows game with Norwich. Martin jol says no offers have been made yet.
Wonder if Adam will be in our squad. Either way looks like Dempsey is on his way to.....? Southampton probably

    There you go then.
Strange that he told everyone he was coming to Liverpool and then it didn't happen. Bet he felt a right tit.

Think it's more his agent rather than himself saying that isn't it?

I suppose but why don't players tell their agents to just shut the **** up sometimes, they do their clients more harm than good half the time
