Okat, RVP would have been nice in some alternate universe in which such a signing would have been possible, but other than that I do not covet my neighbour's signings.

Joe Allen ? Neat and tidy midfielder I suppose, but would want £8M change from £15M.

But Clint Dempsey ? Saha ? Fletcher ?

Rodwell would be handy enough but I'm not sure he'd get much pitch time in our midfield.

And who else ? I can't remember a season when I felt less covetous of others acquisitions

I would have taken Hugo Rodallega on a free, for some sort of pay as you play wage deal. Has to be better than Xisco and Ranger.

Fair enough. I envy every team that doesn't have Xisco and Ranger.

Rodallega would have been fine, but no great loss

Of the signings so far that we may have had a chance with, Hoillet is the only one I'm disappointed we didn't get. That said, if his attitude doesn't improve it may be a dodged bullet.

Oliver Giroud and Jan Vertonghen for me. Both would have been great additions.

Yeah if we'd managed to get these 2 in and not lost anyone by September we would have had as good a transfer window as anyone could have imagined. Still praying we get a CB in though

Personally I think there has been some great players moving. Giroud, Vertonghen, Cazorla, Dempsey, Hoilett, Rodwell, RVP, Hazard, Marin, Sigurdsson are all cracking players. However I don't feel one shred of jealousy. I am simply very content with our little project and the players we have signed. I like the idea of our young players getting to fill some of the squad roles and progressing. Personally I am excited to see Abeid, BigiSmalls, Fergie and Campbell etc make their way in the game.

Big name signings and transfer are great fun but I think our methods make you buy in as a supporter that little bit more. Add to that the signings of players like Anita, a proven international class player for sensible fees and its just a great time to be a supporter of our great club.

    Excuse the ignorance mate.

    Collocini, Williamson, S Taylor

Looks pretty strong to me, is it just cover you need?

Williamson is adequate but not inspiring if you know what I mean...Taylor is a great player when fit, but this has been increasingly rare. Looking at our strongest starting 11, the 2 spots people continuously point 2 as our weakest are RB and CB. Also, last season we ended up playing Danny Simpson (5"9) and Perch at CB against Norwich and got beaten 4:1 with all 4 being the result of crosses, had we had 2 ACTUAL CBs there, I reckon we'd have won!

Saylor is injury prone, could miss the entire season from day 1. Willo is good, but not brill, and a calamity if the ball is on the floor. Aside them, we have Good, an unproven teenager, and Perch, who is more of a utility man than centreback, and two short besides.

So really, its cover between Saylor and Willo we need.

Willo would be fine as a 4th choice. The first choice pairing of Colo and Saylor are as good as any in the league when fit in my opinion. I know some would say that's ridiculous but we had a better record than any before Saylor got his injury. Looking at Saylors injuries, they have been a bit freakish so there is hope he is not injury prone. But as it stands currently you have to look at him that way. Given Colo tends to get a suspension and one or two muscle pulls, and given the marked drop in performance last year when Willo had to come in, then a CB is the priority signing now.

Its a delicate balance though because you have to keep whoever you bring in happy. We should have enough games for that though. We do have a promising young centre back called Remi Streete but he is still very young at this stage. We've also signed another youngster in Curtis Good but it I think its more of a development signing. A youngish centre back would be preferable to me but Pards is seemingly dead set on bringing in quality to compete with Saylor.

I'm not saying this for definite as there are so many factors to consider, but maybe we'd have ran Arsenal close for 3rd last year and CL if we'd been stronger in this area.

Would have been very happy with Sigi, but out of the other (affordable for us) signings that have taken place, I'm not too bothered.

We have Bramble available, if you's want to take him for cover?

they're good at football. Especially Giroud. He can do footers just as well as headers which is why i think he is good at football.

    You must be about 12?

For the record as well, Giroud is the weakest out of them 3 players
