Belfast is currently staging a series of concerts in the city centre called Belsonic featuring artists like Noel Gallagher, Emeil Sande, Tom Jones and Madness held over 10 days. Last night the DJ/producer Skrillex was playing alongside another set of acts and made the ultimate no no of displaying flags on the projection screens as part of his light show. The poor fella must have been unaware of the fact that such a small issue can cause a lot of emotion and when the Irish tricolour was displayed either side of his stage a lot of people in the crowd started booing. Probably would have been a better idea to scrap the patriotism display here as it literally divides the community. Went to see Eminem last year at a festival in a place called Bangor, 20 miles outside of Belfast and he too seemed to get a little mixed up to where he actually was. Asking the crowd "How you doin Belfast?" and "Belfast make some noise!" to which a load of people either laughed at him or booed him. Is there any other cases where you've seen a DJ/musician and they quite clearly haven't a clue where they are.
Why would people boo a flag Medro? Do you have an opinion on that? Also, why the **** would anyone go see a DJ?
Prove the bangor one, because I was at T in the Park when he made his **** up with edinburgh and I have a sneaking suspicion that this might just be a myth.
Good point. Bangor is a sleepy small town on the coast, why the **** would one of the worlds biggest Rap stars perform there?
The best faux pas was when they opened a new Tesco Superstore in Bellshill, Lanarkshire a couple of years ago. They booked a local flute band to perform at the opening. They didn't have a clue what that meant in this area and nobody told them. I'd heard about it beforehand and thought it was a joke. But no. They opened the Tesco to an Orange Order flute band playing in the carpark.
Aye. Big huge ****er it is. It also has a huge Morrisons and a Lidl. Basically the place is just 3 supermarkets surrounded by really ****e housing.
