I was just gonna post that I don't want to sign him 'cos we would never hear the end of it from CB but f*** me he has started already :). As my old man used to say ' noone likes a smug c*** .

CB- You did talk about Defoe signing (done deal) over a year ago so any ITK has definately elapsed. Sorry fella :) (that also goes for any Russian billionaires who might buy us in 2031)

    Not sure we want him.......

    Cisse and Tarbs upfront
Johnson and Zamora as a change

Mackie can playbehind a striker and score more goals than the striker can....as will SWP this year I believe (Did I REALLY just type that)
Then add in the youngsters, Sparky will give a 20 min run to at the end of the matches

And Rob no pulse Hulse...Ok not rob no pulse Hulse

What do we need Defoe...save the money Sparky for Samba either now or in January

I think if we can sign him we should, then go for Berbatov as well. Then jump on the 9/1 on offer for us to get into Europe:biggrin:

Oh god Defoe he scores a good goal ... well he had a great shot that Buffon would have eaten but it went it and he is now a hero. The general impression about Defoe (who I firmly believe was thinking about a loan deal with us last year) is that he has been unlucky not to play games for spurs ... My view on the player is that he knows how to score goals BUT if played every week he is NOT consistent and disappears from games and that is the reason why Harry etc would not make him first choice and why Spurs are always on the outlook for a new striker ... In short i am not convinced he would do it for us if he came week in week out. Cisse for me is a live wire and so far he has shown us that he gets a slight chance he will take it ... and there is no goalkeeper in the world that can adjust quickly enough to that sort of quick thinking.

If he comes he comes but I am convinced that MH will play a lone striker a lot this year as we have goals in all our midfielders ... defoe may not fit into a QPR side

Yep, we've already got 5 quality players fighting for positions up front, 6 if you include Betty (and 7 with DJ, who some reckon we should keep). It could become difficult keeping them all happy. Like Beth says, we should keep our money and spend it elsewhere. Personally, I think we need to strengthen our options in defence: we've let in some sloppy goals pre-season (echoes of our last PL campaign?)

We already have enough strikers. Defoe, Cisse and Zamora as our main 3 would be great, but we just signed Johnson and others will hang around like a bad smell. Defoe would be leaving Tottnham to be the main man, and not to play in some sort of rotation system. So unfortunately I am calling the jounalists bluff on this one. Just paper talk

Hope you're right about playing Cisse ahead of Taarabt. I'd take Defoe though!!

Agree with this -I'd love to see him at QPR but unless we have an unlimited budget I hope we use our cash on a good CB and CDM first, and if we are also going to splash on a striker, Carroll would be a better buy if we were so lucky, as he is a great lone striker.

I'm bored of reading about Defoe. I want either something to happen or for news stories about to stop appearing.

Defoe wants to move? I hear Stratford is nice since they done it up for the Olympics, nice and quiet now too! He might not be loaded, but should be able to get a mortgage for a 2 bed maisonette....
