I know his goal wasn't a 25 yard screamer into the top corner but are late kickoff taking the piss?

He was 8 yards out with the keeper and a defender covering the goal to his left, and a defender on the line covering the goal to his right. It's not really a tap-in is it?

I thought that too, he still had some work to do. Would be disappointing if he missed, but i don't think it could be called a tap in.

It was brilliant with David Tennant, Matt Smith just doesn't cut it. It's like he's trying to do an impression of David Tennant.

I agree that Karen Gillan is well fit.

Tennant was indeed a legend, but Matt Smith has the hair and footballing ability to rival any Man/Timelord.

You can tell there isn't enough banter in a thread when after post 4 we're talking about Dr Who :D

I think the current actors are pretty good. There have been some disappointing episodes, but I liked the weeping angels and the Britain space ship. Does anyone know when the next series starts? I think it was supposed to be Spring, but its the end of April already

The adverts are all over the BBC now so I reckon its next Saturday.

I'll still watch it but it's not in the same league as Tennant/Piper.

    Cheers.

I only got into Dr Who when it was Tennant and Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones), but I have seen some episodes with Billie Piper. I reckon Tennant was better than Smith, but Smith isn't doing bad. As for the assistant, Amy is my favourite <laugh>

Baker was good, but Pertwee is d'man! After Baker the show went into terminal decline with the choices for subsequent Dr.'s

Pertwee was the best, (he also had Worzel Gummidge and a Navy Lark - surprising what you can get up to in a Police Box).

Didn't Baker play the Captain ("You have a womans bottom......") in Blackadder (series 2)?

Yes, the legless (literally and metaphorically) captain.
