We have no problem scoring goals too... So we can rest him to try to avoid injuries.. Something Arsenal couldn't do...

UIR best strikers by far? I'll have a cheeky tenner with you that aguero and tevez score more between them than Rooney and RVP?

As likely as Van Persie is to get injured (they say) - Tevez is to go awol.

Check my strikers thread, Rooney and RVP have the best strike rates and highest totals from last season of the big clubs strikers. Think it makes sense to say on paper and on the pitch we have the best strike force. Add in Nani, Valencia and Kagawa and its amazingly good.

I'm not saying they don't. I just fancy city to outscore you this season.

As I see it we have improved and City have stayed the same.

The question is.... have we improved by a few goals? Yes!

    Plus Vidic <ok>

But City have had quite a settled summer... Which shouldn't be underestimated... If Balotelli and Tevez screw their heads on - this is gonna be one hell of a season for us two... <ok>

But I love how the likes of Adebayor and Santa Cruz (and their stupid wages) have come back to haunt City now.

This. Still can't understand why we aren't making more of a move for Sahin. Only Liverpool and Arsenal seem interested in them, and we have proven ourselves to be far more attractive to top players.

I'm hoping SAF was keeping our interest quiet to avoid pissing Wenger off before the RVP deal is done, and now we'll swoop with a cheeky bid and piss everyone off even more <ok>

I'll take that bet. Premier League goals only, right?

I pray we do. A season long loan with an option to buy <ok>
Heck, we should have bought him last season.... There's no way he's on "massive" wages.

I should dig up my old threads on him, had some good vids... Been a fan for ages.

If Ando and Clev can stay fit for a whole season or half each ( different halves ) we will be fine in midfield, nothing amazing but hell, give the ball to any one of our attack and each can make something happen bar Hernandez.

At any one time thats 5 players on the pitch who can create and score goals. Yeh, we will be fine.

If midfield was as big an issue as we thought then Fergie would of bought, as it is hes stated numerous times that the quality we want is not there, its hard to disagree. Why make do when it does fine as it is?

No chance we'd have gotten him last season. He agreed everything with Real before the last ball had been kicked, and all his chat was about how he dreamt of playing for Real.

But now the dream move has soured he'll definitely be looking for a club that treats their young players better, and I reckon if we put a cheeky bid of around £10-12 million in then Real might just accept. They only paid about £8 million for him IIRC, and seem to let players go without even caring how much they get for them or what they are worth.

Just posted this on the Liverpool board...

I didn't understand why we'd spend so much money on a 29 year old... But the way I now see it...
We CAN'T allow City to win back-to-back (-to-back?) titles... Whatever the cost (within reason).. If they do, it's the beginning of dominance..

We have to spend properly now in order to keep ourselves from dropping under their shadow long term.. It'll cost us much more than £20 odd million if that happens.
    On the field and off.

If Van Persie wins us the league for just this season, and does nothing else... He'll atleast be stopping City moving towards us.

    Oh, didn't know...

Indeed.. Hope we bid... There's no way he's on massive wages. And he's one of those footballers who can just play in any league...
I'll be annoyed if he joins Arsenal or Liverpool, even just on loan..
