I know you guys do find a modicum of comfort in our temporary paucity of strikers, but the pain is always there, isn't it.
MMMMmmmm...the same Chamakh that was a great free signing? ****ed up the adebayor signing...so you think that we should be paying him £175, 000 per week? When whinger spends nothing it's noble and keeping to a budget and when we do it levy is being tight fisted?
Come on you know you want to. Plus Bendtner is a bit vengeful towards Arsenal, he could be a club legend.
If we're not going to sign anyone up top in this window, then I'd take Chamakh and Bentner. The Dane was pretty impressive in the Euros and I think he'd do a decent job for a side that plays our system. The same could be said for his Moroccan counterpart, who thrived on being a targetman when he first signed, before being dropped and having his confidence destroyed. I imagine that someone like David Moyes would manage to create quite a potent front three out of those two and Arshavin. A ridiculous amount of ego going on, but then we saw that from Adebayor and Gallas during their time with the Goons and it's been curiously absent at WHL, contract negotiations aside.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19179833 Manchester United have agreed a £24m deal to sign Arsenal striker Robin van Persie on a four-year contract. The 29-year-old will meet with United in the next 48 hours to discuss personal terms and have a medical. Arsenal captain Van Persie announced in July he would not extend his current deal, which expires in June 2013. The Netherlands international scored 44 goals in 57 games for club and country last season, including two against United. More to follow.
Take a look at the goonies wee board, "RVP is a traitor" "he is a ****" " was a legend, now a nobody" .
I would be lying if I said I haven't been hanging around the forum waiting for your reaction to this.
Man Utd have just agreed a deal to sign him! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19179833 P.S. Apologies for not checking thread replies above. Down to laziness and too many beers..... hick!
PESKIE and quite a few other of the Gooners owe me a massive apology. I was called a wum when ever I said that RVP would leave. PESKIE swore blind he would stay. If I could find the quotes I'd put them in my signature. Of course, never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that RVP would show so much disrespect by joining United. The only way in which he could have shat harder on his status as Gooner legend is if he had joined us on a free transfer. They are now in a very desperate place.
