The last two years I have placed a cheeky bet on the score against Swansea, winning a good amount on 4 nil and 3 nil. Any suggestions for Saturday?

Looking forwatd to Saturday also, as I am now again a season ticket holder in the West Paddock, first time for 36 years!!!

Personally I reckon evens or 11/10 on a straight win is the standout bet. The problem with correct score bets is that a lucky last minute consolation goal is always on the cards to f*** you up.

.... and disallowed goals ..... and a penalty against you when you are 3 - 0 up and the ref gives it as it doesn't matter and will only be a consolation goal anyway .... etc

Agreed Eamon. I can't understand these people who bet week in, week out on 'first goal scorer AND correct score' bets. F*** me, I have enough trouble getting the bloody result correct, let slime anything else. :)

My advice, never bet on your own team. And if you do, never bet on them to win. If they lose it just makes you doubly depressed....

My advice is to keep your money in your pocket.

Betting is a mugs game. There arn't many poor bookies.

You aint wrong there mate, with betting and the kids that must be why i'm always skint :).
Funnily enough, for the Golf Open Championship this year i ran a book for all the lads in the office who wanted a bet. Took about 90 quid in bets and only paid out 30. So your theory was definatly proved to be correct.

I dont bet as I think its a mugs game but if I did, Id bet on us doing bad, eg I would have had money on us to go down place in the last couple of weeks. Either id have got money or wed have stayed up.
    You "win" either way.

Of course you do but the winning a few hundred quid will sofent he blow of relegation and staying up will mean you dont really care about the £50 you lost. I think most of use would have given up £50 if it meant we stayed up.

We'll have to disagree there 'cos it would of taken a hell of a lot more than a few hundred quid to soften the blow of relegation........and if we stayed up and it meant me losing £50 then the evening would be soured as I would have no money to go out and celebrate, thus meaning I would have to stay at home, probably argue with the Mrs, which in turn could cost me thousands in a divorce settlement

So I lose either way :(

So you just put on a bet that makes sure the winnings will soften the blow. Bet £200 and you could have got 4 figures back.

This, my man is the classic "Butterfly Effect". And why stop where you did. The thousands you lost in the divorce could cost you your house, which leads you into a spiral of depression forcing you to quit your job. You then turn to the bottle and end up a homeless drunk. Just when you think life couldn' the possibly get any lower, a charity offers you a roof over your head and 3 meals a day but only if you help out in a community scheme to help save a near extinction species, which sounds fair enough until they hand you your uniform and paperwork to start.... A Fulham kit and season ticket. Which leads you to where you are now, staring over beachy head!!

If I were you I'd stay well clear of a betting shop....
