It is a terrible shame about Fabrice Muamba, maybe he could be involved in some way by taking a course to become a physiotherapist or something similar.

To be fair... Teams wont have a go at us as much when they look at Van Persie and Rooney up front...
Indirectly decreases the dependence on the midfield...

With Kagawa signed too, I'd still love another centre mid.. But he doesn't need to be a £25 million one anymore, and obviously wont be.

Would you rather have spent it on a midfielder or happy with just this?

I'm not saying anything on the matter...we spent £35m on Carroll and £20m on Downing.

I never really wanted us to spend £20 odd million on him...But you can never have enough match winners.. Him and Kagawa give us unpredictability in our attack now... Despite scoring lots of goals last season we we're very predictable at times....

We can afford to rest him much more than Arsenal ever did... So he'll be less likely to pick up an injury...

With the situation now, I'd say bring in another midfielder.. maybe a cheap(ish) 30(ish) year old (with experience) to keep us going until Powell and Cleverley progress. For example Seydou Keita... Won't happen though.

Would have spent this money on Fellaini or Martinez.. But I'm not complaining.

Surely it increases the dependence on the midfield, as Rooney and Van Persie will be so overmarked you'll need your centre midfielders to do something to win the game in certain games.

Seriously we do not need a midfielder.

We use wingers for our creativity and have had the same midfield basically for a while now yet bar last season we have been successful.

Its an issue but not as big as people make out.

Living in Germany, I have seen him play a lot. He is very good, but with Van persie playing, Rooney will be a midfielder (best position for the white pele). Kagawa might not enjoy the best of it, unless he is a park type player and happy to be playing and adapts well.

Not sure what teams will do when they are so focused on our srikers and wingers that they can't get enough men up the field.
Our problem wasn't creating chances.... Our problem was getting overrun... Teams (like Wigan and Everton) pushing men up on our midfield...
When they see Van Persie and Rooney on the team sheet - they'll commit less.

Our counter-attack has just gotten that bit stronger.
