I'm off Monday, I might pop along, see how the guys are shaping up. Might be the only chance this season to see keiron Dyer and Owen Hargreaves kick a football...
I will probably be hung over from the wwe summer slam so doubt I can make it Yes Im a big kid at heart !
Got my boots, pads, shorts and socks packed. Now where did I put my Sergio Taccini tracksuit? Been waiting 25 years for a kick about with the lads seeing as JIM never did f***ing FIX IT for me.....................
I think I will pop along also. Cheap half-day out during the school hols for my two girls. ( Providing we don't go in the Superstore afterwords to buy QPR pencil cases, clocks, ties, cuff-links, snow globes rulers etc. ) They might want to go to London Zoo in the afternoon though. That will probably cost me a 'monkey' to get in there.
Lets just hope that we don't use Saturday as a training session too. Off next week so I might pop along.
Watch a bunch of grown men doing shuttle runs for an hour, or spend that same hour watching paint dry?? It's a tough one, too close to call........ ;-)
It's a shame Martin Allen doesn't still do his soccer schools in the summer holidays. Every year I went he would bring rangers players down to coach us. For a week. I was playing football with Big Mac, Paul Parker, David Seaman, Mark Falco amongst many others. Great times... As for the above comment. I love watching films, doesn't mean I want to see how it's made. I love qpr, but do I want to see the players have a lazy hours kick about. No! If they let the kids join in it would sound like a worthwhile experiment. To question my fan credentials because of this is plain stupid...
Maybe it's just me then who admires this new age of openess and the club at least trying to connect with the fans ...i mean if its good enough for Barcelona and Madrid......but what do i know, huh...i'm just plain stupid
Maybe you're right, I guess we don't get to see them enough these days, especially the kids. Still think they should bring back the soccer schools. And yes, I don't like the word soccer either, but that's what they were called. To spend a whole week with these players was just magical back then, guess that's why I'm a little grumpy with the hour session on Monday. Sorry Staines.
And one of the best players in met on them, really nice and good coach was Justin channing, anyone remember him?
To be honest mate, each to their own. I just think it's a great way of connecting with the fans, and as you most rightly say, especially the kids (I would think its no coincidence this is being done during the school holidays. On your point about 'Soccer Schools', i do think QPR ran or are running a few locally (Heston British Airways club is one i think) during the school holidays. I think i saw somewhere that each one would have a visit from a first team player. Again a really good way of connecting with the community. And no need to apologise mate, no offence was taken. What i love about this forum is the different opinions and views, that's what it's all about 'cos if w all agreed it would be a little bit too safe
I do remember the name but for the life of me can't remember the player or face. But then again i have problems remembering players and names from last season so i'm no judge
Yes, I remember him. He wasn't with us for very long. Met him at a mutual friends wedding about 8 years ago. He seemed quite upset that I didn't instantly recognise him.
