Joey Barton remains in limbo after the Football League said they would not register him on loan at another club.
QPR have attempted to get round Barton’s 12-game ban by loaning him to a team outside the Barclays Premier League.
His 12-game ban would then be served quicker because of the volume of matches played by Football League teams.

No loan move: Joey Barton won't be able to go on loan to the Football League

But the Football League said a move to a club outside the top flight would not be in the spirit of the game and would bring it into disrepute.
Barton was found guilty by the FA of two counts of violent conduct after being sent off against former club Manchester City for an off-the-ball incident involving Carlos Tevez in the final game of the season. He was then involved in a confrontation with Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany.

Barton was training with Fleetwood but that arrangement has come to an end and QPR are looking at alternative solutions.

Jt just seems know when to keep his mouth shut as regards the authorities. Where as Barton just tries to antagonise them with silly comments. Teflon Terry has the better advisors around him I suppose...

Unfortunately for the Football League they'll have no control over it if the FA agree to a loan. The suspension is from first team games until the club has played 12 games, he doesn't need to be eligible to play in them. If somebody plays for you in say the League Cup, and then in January joins a team still in the League Cup with a suspension, their League Cup games count towards the ban even though he's cup tied.
