How many forwards got 20 goals last season though, 20 goal a season men are like goldust. If he gets 15 it will be money well spent.

You say that now, if it's true then everyone will try to screw us over when we try to by a player

Wolves had more successful crosses than you last year though.

The BIGGEST bite on the arse, is other targets.

They will have seen this play out, and will see us as fair game to be ****ed over on anyone we go in for.

When you think we didn't even attempt to get Pogrebnyak, who was outstanding for Fulham, it's an extraordinary fee.

That said, I'd sooner we paid the money for a proven goalscorer than get nobody, he will get around 15, no doubting that.

Hopefully a few more, and we can forget the fee.

That's because Bendtner was never in the box marra, the amount of superb deliveries from Mc & Seb that nobody was central for was criminal.

Put it this way, If we have a warchest of say £30m, then we have spent half already.

So hypathetically, this would leave only 16m to get the three or four others we seriously need.

......Unless, of course, we ship out an additional 10m worth of cast-offs ????

Wolves had the most successful crosses out of anyone in the league though, you were 7th I believe. I want to know where in gods name Fletcher was!

I see your point and how this 'negotiation' could be seen as a weakness, however, fletcher has clearly been our number one target and its obvious poxy has held out, fair play, if other reports are true and we get defoe aswell for £7.5m or whatever is being brandished then we have replaced bent & gyan combined fees of £37m for £21.5m decent business

Fletcher had one of the the highest chance conversions AND the most headed goals in the league last season.

Maybe Wolves crosses were so accurate because of his positional play?

He will thrive on Seb & Mc, Jarvis is a great crosser, by all accounts, but Hunt on the other side, not so much.

Fletcher only started 26 games so he was on the bench when alot of those crosses went in.

Surely they weren't to Fletcher though otherwise his chance conversion wouldn't be so high?

I rate Hunt! Decent crosser of the ball IMO.

Hunt's not a bad player, but he's not close to the other 3 IMO.

Surely, you can see the logic in Bendtner being out of position lowering our accuracy %?

Add to that that we don't always go down the wings, as we tend to play through Sess, that stat can be bent anyway you want to.

Anyone with eyes knows that Seb is close to the leagues best crossers, & McLean is not a million miles behind.

I see your point but I still think if Fletcher should have got on the end of more of those crosses and scored more.

I dont agree that you're THAT much better an attacking force than Wolves and even if you were it still doesn't mean that because Fletcher scored 12 for Wolves he'll get more for you. Look at Torres! <yikes>

I agree with that mate, I know there's no guarantee on that score, but I'm confident he'll do the business.

    Time will tell ;)

Sorry for this and please don't take it as WUMing, but that's a crazy price, if it's accurate.
You could probably buy Bendtner and Defoe for that, if you assume that the media's vaguely accurate on their valuations (£4m and £9m, respectively).
You'd be paying out more in wages, without a doubt, but you'd have a far more potent strikeforce and two players that would actually complement each other.
